Well-Engineered Pellet Grill That Balances Consistency, Capacity, and Control
After having done a few cooks in the Weber Searwood XL 600, it is conceivable that this grill has been designed for any given users in need of reliability, smart temperature control, and sufficient cooking space to handle larger meals without constantly babysitting the fire. Assembly & First Impressions: Assembly was easy, and the instructions were clear, but it does take a while because of the size and weight of the unit. Once put together, the grill feels solid and sturdy. Materials, welds, and finish reflect Weber's usual attention to durability. The lid is heavy, seals well, and helps in heat retention and temperature stability. Cooking Space & Capacity: The XL 600 size is actually functional. You should have ample room for multiple racks of ribs, larger briskets, or a full setup of chicken and sides. The layout makes it rather easy to zone food without crowding, especially on longer smokes. Temperature Regulation & Performance: Temperature control is one of the high points of this grill. It heats up efficiently and holds set temperatures very consistently once stabilized. On longer cooks, temperature swings were minimal, and recovery after lid opens is quick. The pellet feed system runs smooth, and pellet consumption feels quite reasonable for a grill of this size. Searing performance is also better than expected for a pellet grill; while it will not quite replace a dedicated gas or charcoal sear station, it produces solid grill marks and enough heat to finish steaks or burgers properly. Smoke Flavor & Results: Smoke output is balanced, not overpowering, for clean, even smoke flavor. Food comes off with good bark development and no bitter aftertaste. This makes it well-suited for both low-and-slow barbecue and higher-temperature roasting. Wi-Fi & Bluetooth Connectivity: The connectivity features are solid, work as intended, and are actually useful rather than just gimmicky. It pairs easily with the app, allowing for remote temperature monitoring and adjustments when needed, which can be nice for longer cooks. Alerts are useful and not invasive; the interface is easy to operate, even for one new to smart grills. Ease of Use & Maintenance: Day-to-day functioning is easy: controls are clear, startup and shutdown cycles are automated, and cleanup is manageable. The grease management system works effectively, and ash buildup is quite manageable with routine maintenance. Value & Overall Assessment: The Searwood XL 600 is positioned on the higher value proposition, but it indeed does not disappoint in build quality, consistent performance, and thoughtful design. It feels like an investment for a long period rather than disposable backyard equipment. The best fit for the person who would grill frequently would be someone who values consistency, capacity, and convenience. Pros: Excellent temperature stability Large, practical cooking capacity Solid construction and lid seal Reliable features of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Clean, well-balanced smoke flavor Disadvantages: Large size consumes time in the assembly process. Premium price as compared to the entry-level pellet grills. Searing: Great, but not a substitute for high BTU gas grills. Closing Thoughts: The Weber Searwood XL 600 is a dependable, solidly engineered pellet smoker that churns out consistent results, adding modern conveniences without overcomplicating the cooking process. Itโs a strong option for serious home cooks who want reliable performance, smart controls, and enough space to cook for gatherings with confidence.

Excellent quality, easy to operate, smokes/grills as advertized
This is my first pellet smoker. I have been using it for a month now, and have smoked chicken, brisket, and grilled steaks. I have been very pleased with the qualilty of the unit and the performance and ease of using the automated controls and the app. I chose the Weber over the Traeger in part because I am hoping not to replace my existing Weber Genesis grill which has served me well but after many years is crumbling into a pile of rust. The Searwood had no difficulty reaching 600 deg, and beautifully seared/grilled the steaks. The downside is that it burns through a lot of pellets vs. smoking at 250 deg. The Weber pellets are expensive, so I intend to look for pellets that are more cost effective. I may still replace my Weber grill, but even so I have no regrets with the Searwood. One more point; I bought the XL model which is really spacious and you can feed an army. If there are just two of you, or you don't entertain large crowds, the smaller model would be excellent as one would assume it uses less pellets.

Just be patient on first operation. It takes a while.
Always wanted a smoker /pellet grill been a weber guy for a while seen all my buddies have Traeger didnโt really like those options and I wanted to be different didnโt get it for the searing option, but I will try it soon Did a lot of research on this pellet smoker it was the only one that I seen that had a rotisserie option, which is great for whole chickens, rotating wings, veggies in baskets which is up my alley got it next day on prime nothing was damaged. Guys came with a truck with a liftgate put it together that night seasoned it smoked chicken thighs for first cook came out excellent used smoking pecan pellets did a lot of research on them too. Iโm vary happy on the performance very simplistic easy to operate and the fact that I could sit on my couch and look at the Weber app and itโll tell me exactly what temperature my grill is at what temperature my meat at and set timers this is really cool Everything iโm sure other smokers do that but Iโm new to this and I just think itโs cool about it is just great. highly recommend to anyone canโt wait for summer. Looking forward to doing my first brisket and monitoring my app from work.

Weber Searpoint 600XL Near Perfection
Weber got this right but not perfect. The performance and service are top notch. Preferred the grill from Amazon due to great extended insurance. Being my first pellet grill I felt extra insurance would be worth while. All accessories were ordered directly from Weber. They offer. Military discount which is very appreciated. Whatโs imperfect is the Searpoint 600XL doesnโt come standard with side or front shelves. Thatโs an upgrade, very worthwhile IMO. The instructions were terrible. You can assemble w/o instructions with a bit of common sense and mechanical knowhow. That said written instructions along with pictures would be nice. No electrical cord management but Hatbor Freight power outlet with USB ports is magnetic and works like a charm. The rotisserie is awesome, versatile and another nice accessory.

I'm a big Weber fan and lifetime user... But this one just ain't it
I wish I could have a glowing review of this unit, and it does work well when it's working. Unfortunately I had just a few weeks of problem free cooking on this unit before the problems started- and they haven't stopped. I have dealt with customer service on a few calls. They have replaced the controller twice. Neither solved my problems. Now new problems have reared. At this point I can still use the unit but it's dangerous. When started, it smokes HEAVILY without the temperature rising at all. After about 15 mins, the pellets in the firebox ignite in a fireball. I get a big "WHOOSH" (similar to when you light gasoline), the unit shudders, sometimes the lid even blows open a few inches. Then it works like normal if you leave it on. A few times I've had to start the shutdown routine to get it to light, then restart the unit to use it. Pellets sometimes get stuck in the auger and it takes a few mins and makes whining noises and clunking before it resumes working. And now... The "Fuel gauge" is not working. So it can't read how many pellets are in the unit and you have to monitor it manually. All this in under a year of regular usage (1-2 times a week even in the winter), and cleaning every 6 cycles or so. I've been a big Weber guy my whole life and have bought at least 8 grills, and I still use the kettles all the time, so when Weber released a pellet grill I was super excited to grab one. But now I wish I would have just gone industry standard and gotten the Traeger. The truth is, the features of the searwood that set it apart aren't really important in a pellet grill. Fast heating is cool I guess but if you are doing long cooks what's a few minutes? High temps aren't really applicable to smoking, and unless this is your only grill it's never used (and to be frank, if your paying $1300 for a grill you probably have a few already). And I do wish the temp went a little lower. 180ยฐ is the low temp, but there have been several times I'd want to smoke at 140F or 160F, and the Traeger does get this low. It's too bad I'm kind of "stuck" with this unit that has so many problems because the cost is so significant. I will definitely buy a traeger next, but it's a tough pill to swallow to spend such a significant price for a unit that is just problem after problem. I hope I just got a lemon. I love Weber, but they have only been willing to send me a new controller, and that "fix" has just not gotten the job done, or even provided any meaningful change other than spending hours on the phone with support and working on the unit. Just so disappointed at this purchase.

Works as advised and simple to use.
I just put my grill together today and let my 10 y.o. do the first cook. She followed the directions and performed all the steps (with supervision) and made us the best tomahawk pork chops I've ever had. Better then anything I've had off of my previous pellet smokers. Looking forward to the steaks she is making us tomorrow!

Grilling Easy Mode
My significant other disliked using propane and struggled to understand how to use my Summit E6. This fit the bill. It was priced right. Starts easing set and cook function. Smoke boost to get a little more flavor for low and slow. Can added a rotisserie. Was able to use the weber flex grill system. And had a smoking box that fits next to the pellet ignition and starts wood chunks if I leave the top open to get a little extra wood smoke flavor. Helps anyone be able to easily smoke.

Great grill but some real issues.
The grill/smoker is a unique combination and very effective and multi-functional. Two very serious caveats of concern. 1. The pellet bin is not watertight. Heavy rains on 2 occasions created water infiltration which ruins the pellets, requiring tedious manual removal. 2. The lid is not secure, and can be blown open in medium wind conditions. Purchase, and use, a grill cover.

Made in Thailand
This is not a negative review, but I want to praise Amazon's exceptional customer service. I was extremely excited when I received the weber searwood, but as you can see from the picture it became the opposite quite fast. The only option available was a refund, tbh I wanted an exchange because I really wanted to use it. I informed them the packaging is in a complete mess and everything was out of the box, but they told me it won't be a problem. I am waiting for amazon to restock the searwood, hopefully within the next week or 2. On the sidenote, the searwood is made in Thailand, because I've been trying to find out where for awhile, but no luck. I'm happy to say it's not made in china.
