What Goes Down, Must Come Up
I remember having a Yo-Yo as a child and loving it. I could only master a few tricks: walk the dog, the swing one. This book brought back such great memories! It's a simple book to read with step-by-step instructions for how to perform many tricks you (I'm too old) remember as a child. For me, this is the perfect grand-parenting trick book. After practicing a few minutes I was back to having fun. (My wrists don't bend like they used too, though.) Next time I'm with my grandkids, I'll bring out my yo-yo and show them a thing or two!

Where was this book when I was a kid?
I'm a yo-yo from way back. Whoops...I meant "yo-yoer." At least I think I did. Through no fault of my own, I spent a great deal of time in a hospital when I was younger. During this time, some well-wishing relative gave me a yo-yo, which was one of the few action toys I could play with while being stuck in a railed hospital bed in a body cast. I wish I'd had this book to go along with it because back then, I was more likely to clobber myself in the head than to do an "Around the World."The book consists of a little history of the toy and well-done line drawings of trick how-tos. What caught my interest most was some of the tips on how to make your own tricks and/or win competitions. Yo-yos are great fun, even now (and becoming a lost art) so if you've got a kid (or a grownup) who wants to learn more than just up and down, this book will be very helpful in getting them to a place of proficiency. Due to my own history with it, I can also recommend this as a "doable" toy and book combo for someone who is in a state of forced immobility. I would recommend to the author that they consider marketing with a yo-yo maker to include this in a package deal with a toy included--because to have this book with a toy included would be a great selling point.

Pedro Was Before Donald
When I was a kid, I knew 2 tricks. Walk the dog and the hesitation deop-spin. I used to love hearing my Duncan Butterfly whine as it spun. I even to-roed as a show and tell at school. Now I get this bool and I realize the yo-yo is still striving and still jas competitions. You don't see tha on ESPN. Hey, they show billiards and Curling. Yo-yos have been around since 500 BC and in the 1920s, Pedro Flores modernized the ones we use today. Donald F Duncan bought the factory afterward and the toy exploded across the nation. Kapan must've thought that was 'old hat'. They had them for centuries earlier. Bow to the tricks. I knew two and was impressive in the 80s. If I had this book of 101 trucks then, I'd be unstoppable. Since it's still current now, get this book and put down Fortnite for a bit. Learn a fun skill none of your friends will know. And if you think its too nerdy, I remember reading about te Infinity Gauntlet decades ago. Mainstream is on the 'late show'.

A must read if you want to learn!
I was given this book for free to read and review. This book highlights twelve major chapters which gives a historical background of the yo-yo and how to compete professionally. It also gives you a brief history of where yo-yos come from and fun facts about the yo-yo. Each trick has a picture of how it’s done. This is a must read if you are serious about learning to yo-yos. There are some fun, basic tricks for beginners that you will learn in no time. With a little determination, the yo-yo tricks you learn from this book will surely amaze and entertain everyone. Highly recommended.

Mad skills with the yo-yo!
This book makes me want to challenge myself. This is such a unique book that I literally had no exposure to the many things one can do with a yo-yo. It is absolutely fascinating and really delivers on the fun. I have to help my kid with this but also myself. There are so many tricks and so much detail that goes into each one.The Yo-Yo is something that everyone is familiar with and this book just amps up the fun. Whenever I got a yo-yo I would play with it for like two minutes tops, but with this book, I have a greater appreciation for such a simple and time-tested toy.Great fun.
