Why should I choose this plastic/metal swift over a more expensive wooden one?

Unlike bulky wooden swifts, ours is lightweight, folds down into a compact case, and supports both horizontal and vertical mounting. It’s a "workhorse" that handles everything from lace to worsted weight without the high maintenance or cost of wood.

Will the clamp damage my expensive craft table?

Not at all. Our clamp is designed with protective rubber grips to ensure a firm hold while preventing scratches. For extra-delicate surfaces, we recommend placing a small piece of cloth or paper between the clamp and the table.

I’ve heard yarn can get caught in the metal joints. How do I prevent this?

To ensure a snag-free experience, simply adjust the height of the swift so it aligns perfectly with your ball winder's yarn guide. Keeping the yarn slightly above the connecting loops during winding will ensure a silky-smooth rotation every time.

Is it sturdy enough for heavy skeins or unraveling old sweaters?

Yes! While it’s lightweight, the reinforced metal parts are built for durability. It can easily handle 100g skeins and is a favorite among "thrifters" for unraveling sweaters into 60-inch hanks.

How difficult is the assembly for a beginner?

It’s as simple as opening an umbrella! No tools required. Just clamp it to your table, slide the main hub up to fit your skein size, and you’re ready to go in under 2 minutes.
