Camping Games for Kids & Families: 100+ Outdoor Family-Fun Games, Activities and Camp

I have worked at a summer camp the last several years and this book has been beneficial in many ways. Lots of games are little to no set up which come in handy for quick change of plans on a rainy day!

This book is filled with great ways to keep the kids entertained. Although written for campsites, we've used them when out at the park, and some of the ideas, like riddles that don't need movement, have been great on long car trips, too! We brought the book on our last camping trip and it was a great boredom buster with lots of giggles. I spent my summers away at camp as a kid but can't remember interesting games to play when put on the spot, so this book is a great reference. It contains a good collection of classics and new games I wasn't familiar with. It is going to take us several camping trips to sample them all. The instructions were easy to follow along, and most don't require any or very minimal equipment, usually easily found while camping. With the new Girl Guides season starting shortly, I can't wait to try some of the games and activities at our weekly meetings. The small format makes it easy to tuck into a backpack or back pocket. I also picked up a copy of Camping Games for Adults from the same author, another one with great ideas for older kids and adults. There is some overlap between the books, but enough of a difference that it is worthwhile to have both in your collection if you regularly camp with both kids and adults.

HOURS of fun and games, perfect for families with little ones as there is nothing inappropriate or that you'd have to filter out- great for all the family!

I absolutely love this book! I work at camp and with outdoor education, and I'm always looking for new things to do with the kiddos. Instead of having to Google for hours on end, I now have a handy dandy book to look through for all sorts of games and activities. I really appreciate how they're labeled with how active the activity is, and the wide variety of things in this book. I'm super excited to get to use them next time I'm on a camping trip!

Lovely cover with a clear easy to read layout inside. I love that for each game you can straight away see how many players you need, what equipment and if it's a very active or sitting game. A wide variety of different types of games. My favourite section is the would you rather section at the back which gives you very imaginative fun things to choose between. This can be used by yourself or with others and would be useful in so many different circumstances. It is also suitable for adult gatherings. The book is very good value for money.
