Bought this to handle an irresponsible pet owner in our building. I placed a layer of clear packing tape around the cube and one in the top corner of my outside door jamb and mounted it there using a ball of automotive putty and aimed it across the hall. I used simple masking tape over the clear 3M tape to make it invisible to a glance, plugged in my 2 amp 12 volt supply and plugged it into my old DVD/VCR combo with a 36" CRT monitor for a view that's like bringing the hallway inside. The whole process took twenty minutes and you know it would be sharper if I'd used one of my HDTVs. NOTE the unit won't work on less than 1 Ah current at 12 volts. The inline DC12 to DC5 converter gets warm to the touch so you know this unit uses power. ALSO NOTE if you apply too much pressure to the cone you can fuzz out the picture. Fortunately pressing the other side of the cone with rocking pressure will bring back sharp focus. There's no way of knowing which side of the cone moved so experiment with this recovery move until it comes back. Mine took only two tries once I understood what was happening. No one not already looking for it will see this camera in plain sight and I made no alterations to the building at all. When I'm done I'll remove it and peel off the tape leaving no trace of putty on either surface. Coming from a time of bulky and expensive B/W pinhole cameras this high-quality/low-price unit has me very happy with my purchase and I do recommend it highly.

I sent mine back because it didn't work. I bought a replacement and it did not work either. Finally after searching the Internet for the reason why it did not work, I found it needs a 12v DC power supply, whereas I was giving it only 5 volts. I'm sure the seller would not get as many returns if they had this important detail listed in the specifications. Hope this helps!

it connected immediately using the input rca on my sony bravia. live picture is decent and clear, unfortunately it didnt capture the best image when i placed it over my door peephole. Obviously the issue was with the peephole viewer components
