Sirloin on a Hamburger Budget?
What do you do when you have a mixed use environment? When you need a switch for a small office environment and have only a couple of devices that require Poe (power over ethernet)? This switch wants to be the answer and it can be if you are willing to make a couple of compromises. I've installed hundreds of network switches and in recent years many have been for surveillance purposes. When installing a network for cameras, speed is not an issue. Cameras do not require gigabit speeds nor do they benefit from those higher speeds. What they do require is power, and if you're security conscious a VPN where each camera can only communicate with the uplink port(s) and nothing else. For an office environment your needs are different. Speed and more open communications are key. If you have network storage, printers and servers on your network, all work stations (or a subset if you're installing a smart switch and a segmented network). So for many environments there are 2 networks. One for security and one for the office. This switch can serve both functions but not in the fashion that one might like. The Vlan is an all or nothing proposition. Either all 8 ports can only talk to the uplink ports or all the ports can also talk to each other. There is no extended distance option where you slow the speed of communications so that your wires can extend beyond the 100m limits (usually up to 250m) . There are also a couple of other creature comforts you will have to forgo to use this switch: 1) No on/off switch. You plug it in, it's on. You unplug it, it's off. 2) There are no mounting brackets or holes to put your own brackets. Therefore you can't rack mount the switch (It's too narrow anyway) or wall mount the switch unless you put up a shelf. 3) There are no rubber feet to place this on a shelf or desk. I tested this out and everything seems to work as advertised. The maximum amount of power a device can draw from a port is pretty standard (30W) and the total budget is also pretty standard (120W). It's well constructed in a metal case and they provide lifelong tech support. It's very respectable for it's price.

Great Switch Better Price
Using this switch to power four ubiquiti AP's and works flawless. Great product for the price.

Barebones but effective and built like a tank!
I use Uniquiti APs for wireless in my house and the only way to power them is PoE. I have to rely on PoE injectors plugged into the wall for most of them - which is ugly, cumbersome, and I've had more reliability issues than you'd expect from the injectors. This Binardat 11port Gigabit PoE switch helps solve that issue. The Switch is pretty visually unassuming - even unimpressive. It's a simple metal box with just enough room for the ethernet and SFT ports on the front with some airflow fins on the side. There is only one indicator light per port which general activity. It does not seem to change color or anything when a 100mbit device is connected vs GBe. Even the manual is pretty sparse. It's obviously a reused/multi-model manual as it talks about things like management interfaces, mounting brackets, and LEDs that don't exist on this model. That said, who really cares about appearances. This little switch rocks where it counts. First - a simple thing - the switch has an internal transformer and takes a bog-standard ATX power supply cable. Great! I've tested with up to three Ubiquiti APs and it was able to power all of them without issue. Great! I also plugged in a PC, a laptop, and an XBox Series X and it was able to successfully negotiate 1GBe with no PoE for those devices. I'm fortunate enough to have a 1GB fiber pipe and I was able to get the full bandwidth to speedtest.net. So while this switch may not look like anything special it has performed flawlessly so far and I'm darn impressed at how much switch you get for so little money. At its current price it would be a great value even if it didn't have the PoE!

Well built but the power supply is huge
Bought this to use in an outdoor enclosure. Unfortunately the power brick is huge and takes up more space than the switch. Wil probably return.

The price was right to grab this POE switch. I’m using it to power up an internet doorbell and intercom screen. No nonsense packaging, all recyclable packaging. Switch is small and encased in metal and feels nice, build quality is passable, no complaints. LEDS are not very bright but that’s alright and fitting for my use case. A fanless design keeps the switch totally silent. Setting up was simple. Just plug in your cables and away you go. I made sure to use the UPLINK port to connect back to the router, works as intended for PoE devices.
