I use this for my son with autism in a wheelchair I bought him. He can go into the public and sit with minimal behaviors (walking through stores etc it often too much for him!) I like the wide band across the front of this belt- it’s not too confining and provides good support. This serves him as a kind of lap belt to slow him down if he suddenly gets up(usually not a good thing if he suddenly jumps up), but also he loves seatbelts “strap into” and he feels more secure. This helps all of our “needs” even if they aren’t for the conventional use of this item.

This is a wonderful belt and life saver. My 97-year-old mom with dementia started pushing herself forward while sitting in her wheelchair, and I had several encounters where she almost went down, this belt works great and gives me the peace-of-mind I need that she is safe.

I bought this for my dad because he fell out of the wheelchair twice falling asleep leaning forward. It was delivered today and he tested it to make sure he won't fall again. He leaned forward to try and place his palms on the floor. It properly restrained him and more importantly, the wheelchair didn't tip. We both are very happy and have peace of mind that he's safe.

After an illness my grandfather lost the ability to walk and went into care. He didn't need to be fully bed bound and could join the other residents for meals and activities in a wheelchair. However, the chair that insurance gave us didn't have any kind on restraint system and for safety we needed something to help keep him stable. This belt was both an affordable and useful solution. It was wide enough to help my grandpa stay upright in his chair ( since he couldn't use his legs to adjust his seat) but wasn't so cumbersome as to restrict movement or strap him fully to the chair. It was easy to take on and off as he was transferred from bed to chair and back.

My special needs nephew loves it!
