Geosystems DISTO D5 New 650ft Laser Distance Measure with Bluetooth, 4X Zoom Camera

Great product!! I’ve had this for around six months now use it every week. The camera view and zoom are perfect. I had an old-school one prior to this with a site. But I can’t find that kind anymore so I went out on a limb and purchased this one with the camera view instead of a site. Very easy to get used to actually like it better than the site. I Would definitely purchase again highly recommend.

Good device for construction.

Needed this for measuring windows, probably better suited for other applications. App was not very intuitive, way more features than I would ever need or use. I may consider much less expensive devices with fewer features.

Im a crane operator, I spent 3 years of my long career as a surveyor out of an engineering office, I bought this so I can target points on the construction site and determine my radius for setting construction materials with this 800 ton crane at distances over 300 feet. My accuracy doesn't have to be as stringent as with most builders but it is still dead on compared to a tape measure. Being able to use the D5 during the day with bright sunshine is a godsend, also, when I cant see the point directly horizontal and being able to hit the top of a 60 foot column and still getting an accurate horizontal measurement is very satisfying. Some of the functionality of the would be lost on me if I hadn't learned to use the Leica MS60 and GS18, this little guy is packed with tools, my only regret is i didn't explore enough to upgrade to one that had the point to point measurement tool.

Works as intended.

When this tool arrived I noticed a small opening at the top of the front panel. Well, I slightly and easily pulled it over just far enough to see the guts of the instrument. The front panel was supposed to be attached with some gooey adhesive, but, apparently it was not. So I pushed it back hard and all the way, and, before returning it made a decision to fully charge it and to try it on. Well it worked just fine and as expected, so, despite the obvious defect I decided to keep it and use it, and if it gets damaged as a result of water/vapor penetration, to use the Warranty instead. Nevertheless, I am not a happy customer after paying for something like this $500.

Super accurate and easy to use

too complicated and not as user friendly as previous versions. first rechargable version versus previous 4 versions that i have had which used AA batteries. i thought i would have issues in the field but the battery appears to be very robust and i have not had an issue yet with it dying on me like the AA battery versions. Still trying to figure out the functions i wish that they would keep the same functionality between versions. every time i get a new one it is a complete new learning experience and the included instructions are terrible.

Superb advance on a standard basic Disto. Worth every penny of a much higher cost. It has a standard camera thread provision for attaching to a tripod or clamp and I find a tripod is essential to realise the full measured survey scope and accuracy of this instrument .
