One person said it was light, another heavy. Has anyone actually weighed this bag?

Got mine today...4.6 pounds, while still in packaging.

Pictures show it standing, but will it simply collapse on itself? Is there a rigid liner?

This is an excellent bag. When it stands it depresses a little like one would expect. It is not perfectly rigid and there is no liner that comes with the item. But it does stay upright when empty

I want a detachable shoulder strap. In one picture it shows a detachable strap. In another it is permanant. Which is it?

From the pictures, I believe the 21 inch bag has a detatchable strap, the 24 inch U-zipper bag (larger opening at the top) has a detachable strap, but the 24 inch bag with a straight zipper (smaller opening at the top) does not. I prefer detachable. The pictures seem consistent to me. There is also a Komal 28 inch bag that appears to have only an attached strap.
