POWERLIX Leg Sleeve - Best Knee Brace for Leg Pain for Men & Women Knee Support for Running, Basketball, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Gym, Workout, Sports Please Check Sizing Chart

I run a long distance and have recently developed a severe "runner's knee" on both sides of my knees. I already have Osgood-Schlatter disease on my left knee which I also fractured (and has healed) last year, so realized that I'd need a good knee support if I run more than 10 miles. I have tried THREE (3) knee support braces/compression sleeves including "PowerLix Compression Knee Sleeve" for that purpose, and wanted to list them for comparison. (1) Breg "FreeRunner". Formerly prescribed for the fracture and designed for an athlete/runner to help with their rehab. It did a great job staying in place during my 13-mile run. But it did NOT completely keep my knee pain-free as it normally would with stairs and biking. I started to feel the same discomfort --> disturbing pain around 10 miles. The brace is bulky so occasionally rubbed against the other thigh - which is a big NO-NO. (2) PowerLix Compression Knee Sleeve (this product): This is a BRACE that is in a form of a compression sleeve. It holds my kneecap in place, protects my Osgood-Schlatter bump (bone protrusion), prevents abnormal gait due to the uneven pulls by the thigh muscles, keeps the optimal temperature inside, allows FULL range of motion. I can flex my knee all the way. It is nice and tight but never uncomfortable. I wore this on my problem left knee and ran a full marathon race this past weekend. It stayed on without ever sliding/rolling down or chafing for the entire 26.2 miles and I did not have to worry or think about it. Most importantly - Absolutely NO PAIN during and post race. I was SO amazed. (3). Physix Gear Knee Support Brace: this is more of a firm compression knee sleeve than a brace. It did also an amazing job in protecting my right knee which was suffering runner's knee. It fits like your favorite compression knee-high sock with no limit in movement and is definitely a more comfortable wear than PowerLix Compression Knee Sleeve (#2). But the anti-slip grips of this knee sleeve at the top is tighter than PowerLix's and may feel a bit too tight. It is however never uncomfortable and the sleeve stayed on without rolling or chafing for the entire 26.2 miles. It kept my right knee totally PAIN-FREE during and post race. [OVERALL] Both "PowerLix Compression Knee Sleeve" (this product) & "Physix Gear Knee Support Brace" did an amazing job and are highly recommended for long-distance runners. They stabilize the knee joint and prevent pain/inflammation by right support and compression but never restrict the movement or stop the blood flow - even for hours! *Sizing: I took the measurements 4 & 5 inches above the top of the BENT KNEE in a sitting position. They fell between 15.3 -15.7 inch. So according to the sizing chart provided by the company, I got a MEDIUM for "PowerLix Compression Knee Sleeve" and a SMALL for "Physix Gear Knee Support Brace". They fit perfectly. *Length: According to the product specification, "PowerLix Compression Knee Sleeve" is a bit longer than "Physix Gear Knee Support Brace". But due to the very firm fabric of PoweLix and very stretchy fabric of Physix, Physix knee sleeve ends up slightly taller than PoweLix when I wore them. *Color: Grey/Black for PowerLix (this product) is almost entirely black (see photo - upper right). It doesn't look like the product photo on this webpage and thought I got a wrong product! Not sure about Blue which I didn't get. I hope they both last long!!! Thank you for reading my long review :-) -------------- UPDATE 12/18/2023 ----------------- I'm still using POWERLIX Leg Sleeve (this product) and have run 7 marathons and hundreds of runs with them since the first purchase in 2018. Nothing wrong with running with knee braces although some sports experts may preach that you need to train your own muscles and correct your form and such. You've got your personal reasons for needing special support for your knees, and these sleeves do the job. I replace the sleeves every year and am on #5 :)

I'm a "mature" female long distance runner, age 60, who had meniscus surgery on my right knee in the autumn of 2017. Did mostly swimming in 2018 with only a little bit of running, but this year I'm back into the swing of things and find myself competing in the points series sponsored by my running club. Early this year I ran two trail half marathons and then, since May, I've also run an 8K, a 10K, a two-miler, a hilly 4.7 mile race and two 5K events, respectively. I've got another 10K race coming up in two weeks. Including the training runs, that's asking a lot of my right knee, which doesn't hurt but occasionally feels "different," so I decided that if I was going to continue with the point series it might benefit me to wear some sort of knee brace. Based on all the positive reviews the POWERLIX Compression Knee Sleeve had, I purchased it a couple weeks ago and wore it for the first time on a five mile training run last week Wednesday. According to the Powerlix measurement instructions I appeared to be a true size medium, so that's the size I ordered. It fit perfectly, it did not slide down my knee when I ran with it, and it seemed to provide good support for my knee. However, it is very hot and humid here in Chattanooga, Tennessee at this time of year, and around the middle of my five mile training run it felt like the sleeve was trying to chafe me a little behind the right knee, probably because I was sweating a good deal. When I took it off after the run, however, the back of my right knee felt fine and was not chafed. I gave it another test yesterday when I did an 8.6 mile training run (again, under hot and humid conditions) and, interestingly, I did NOT experience the chafing feeling again at all and the sleeve felt fine, despite all of my sweating. The sleeve also stayed put, felt like it provided good support, and did not irritate me or otherwise interfere with my 8.6 mile run. I was very satisfied with it. Anyway, I've only done two runs so far with the POWERLIX Compression Knee Sleeve and I still have several more races to run this year for the points series, so I'll provide another review here later, after I've run with it several more times. Looking forward to seeing how it will hold up over the next few months...if it continues to do well and provide good support, I may even attempt the Strolling Jim 40-miler with it next year.

This is a very solid knee brace. There had been a lot of talk about the sizing on here, and I think that for those with smaller sizes it may be a little off. After reading some reviews, I went with one size down from the sizing chart (Medium instead of Large). The brace does seem to fit well, about the same tightness above and below the knee as the other similar brace I have. So I do think it is the correct size, but it exerts almost too much compression on the meniscus areas of the knee. I could not use it on my injured knee (torn ACL and both meniscuses) as the medial meniscus area would get quite irritated after a while (moreso than without the brace). I am now using it on my "good" knee for support with all the weight bearing. I like it for that use, though the same area on my "good" knee does also become irritated if I wear it for too prolonged of a time. However, this brace does seem to offer a good amount of support. The material is soft and feels nice, and is relatively thin. I'm not highly mobile with it right now, but it has never slipped down on my leg.

These braces are easy to use and provide good support for arthritic knees. I purchased several of these knee supports at different times. Unfortunately one of them had a small issue and needed to be replaced. Their "lifetime warranty" is excellent - after one simple contact to request replacement, the package showed up in just a few days. Very pleasant experience. Highly recommended.

Approximately 3 1/2 weeks ago, I did a slow, light, supported squat to get to a lower kitchen cabinet. I felt a slight tinge of discomfort on the inside of my right knee. Something important happened internally though as the next day my whole leg (calf, knee, thigh) swelled significantly. I started with RICE immediately. Compression was the last element I put in place; I needed to research useful supplies. Wellness Facts had a list of five best knee braces with POWERLIX being #1. Their link led to Amazon where I could read reviews and all the product details. I bought two immediately. I am not an athlete; I just wanted to be able to walk comfortably and energetically. The braced knee really feels all "pulled together" and ready to walk at a moderate to brisk pace. This is such an energizing feeling. Moving slowly in an attempt to not hurt my knee was such a horribly tiring experience. The rest of my body (legs, hips, back, other knee) hurt from the stress. The compression keeps the swelling down below my knee so that my leg no longer aches later in the day. I bought four more shortly after my first purchase of two, enough to machine wash every three or four days. Who knows what I did to my knee. Who knows how long before it recovers (fingers crossed for luck). Who knows how long before Covid-19 is tamed and I might be able to consult with a doctor. In the meantime, I am waking up happy and can function well during the day. I am ever so pleased with my first knee brace experience!

I am training for a half marathon and one day when I was running my long run my knees started really hurting. I rested a few days and tried to run an easy 5K but had to stop after 2.5 milers because my knees hurt so bad. I was really nervous because I had a 9mi race in 2 days. I purchased these on Amazon with next day shipping. I bought a medium and a large because I was on the boarder of the sizes. I rested the next day and I word the large during the race the following day. I thought that the M was too tight but during the race I felt the large was sliding down a bit and looked baggy. These sleeves were a game changer! I was able to run until 7.5 miles before I felt any knee pain at all and even then it was mild. My knees did hurt later in the day after the race but they got me through so I am happy with them. I am going to rest a few days more before I try running again but I will definitely be using these in all my future runs along with strengthening my quads and glutes to help support my knees.

It’s ok, I wanted to try this out for my long runs to see if it would help with some of the knee pain I was having. It fits very well, no sliding around. However, it didn’t really help with any of the pain. I still had the same knee pain around mile 3 out of 5 and the day after pain was just as excruciating using the sleeve as it was without using it during my run. It’s hard to say if I was able to push through the pain better while using the sleeve or not, but I don’t think that’s what this is intended for anyway. I can definitely feel the compression and tightness that the sleeve is supposed to give you, but maybe it’s for a different type of knee pain than what I am experiencing on my runs. I’ll keep it and try it during my weight lifting workouts here in a few days after the knee pain wears off & see if it makes a difference on the types of workouts. It might work better for the weight lifting for knee support more than support for running. I don’t dislike it, I think it’s just not for my type of pain situation I’m experiencing.

Size down if you want a more comfortable, stabilizing fit. According to the measurements listed, I was to have been an XL. Being that I am a female standing at 5'4", I chose to purchase a size medium. It fit perfectly and helps ease the radiating pain down my leg from herniated discs. The sleeve stays in place with the silicone grips along the thigh, but still gives you great mobility. Highly recommended.
