FUEL10K Complete Nutrition Meal, Mexican Chilli, 658 g

I'm amazed how quick this is to make and how nice it tastes! It's like a quality rice bowl you'd expect from a restaurant. This kept me full for ages, it'll reduce my visits to the snacks through the day! I am looking forward to trying the other flavours

'Mexican Chilli Rice' flavour - pleasantly surprised. Its a similar product to Huel and other products, although it actually uses a higher proportion of 'real food' ingredients (rice, vegetables) compared to those and feels slightly more like real food. Obviously, its very highly processed but it does make a quick meal option and the vitamin content (although artificial additives) and low fat does make this a healthier option than fast food, as well as better value. The appearance isn't great, but that's mainly owing to all the ingredients being mixed together - if you took any chilli and rice dish and just stirred everything together in a bowl until it was even mixed, it would look pretty similar. It tastes as good as any instant/ready meal chilli and is just as filling, but with a better nutritional profile. 'Indian Jalfrezi Rice' - less successful, just tastes like rice with curry powder on. Your brain is used to having "lumps" of chicken/lamb/etc in a curry and without them it just seems really lacking in mouth feel/bite. The mexican chilli isn't affected by this because you use ground mince in a chilli anyway. One issue I did have with both (I think from the pea protein) was that it caused me some issues with gas/flatulence for hours after eating. I didn't have any associated bloating but it still wasn't ideal - I've had this before with some (though not all) products that use pea protein, but something to be aware of. Overall, this is OK, and about the same nutrition and taste as Huel hot and savoury in my opinion. Of all the brands that I've tried, "Plenny" from "JimmyJoy" is probably the best for savoury hot meals, and then this (Fuel) is in the same kind of band as Huel, but at a more reasonable price point - its not amazing but its better value.

I've never known anything like it. It's tasteless and just makes you feel like your consuming liquid cardboard. Not recommend whatsoever. Actually made me feel a bit depressed. Very clever what packaging can do to influence your purchase.

It was the first time I had seen these fuel 10k mixes and boy I wasn't disappointed. The jalfrezi is really good with a really great chilli kick without being over the top hit like some other brands. The mix is full of veggies and it really did keep me full all afternoon. Hats off to the team at fuel 10k.

I have used this on numerous hiking and canoeing trips and it doesn't disappoint. Lighter to carry than other traditional ready meals and better flavour.

As someone who loves any type of chilli -con carne or vegetable or meat substitute based - I could not swallow 1 teaspoon of this. I cannot adequately describe just how awful this is. I literally had to spit it out. All I can say is, this is not food; save yourself the disappointment and just throw a £20 note in the bin now.

I like this for ease of use, a quick and easy meal without prepping anything and still has a decent nutritional content, I followed the instructions shook the bag, weighed what I needed and it turned out more of a vegetable meal than rice meal but still smelled and tasted like a thai meal (lemon grass infused) i added chilli flakes and black pepper for a little heat. It didn't thicken up as I expected either, surprisingly filling for the amount you get and you have about 3 weeks to consume it after opening so plenty of time to use it all up within the timeframe. Just wish it poured out a balanced ratio of ingredients like it should which would be obtainable by having pre weighed individual bags inside the packaging.
