This used to be my favorite tea that I relied heavily on for enjoyment and management of chronic illnesses including IBS. The fennel bag used to be whole seeds, but now are crushed. This might seem better to some, but the flavor and experience has drastically changed. The tea used to be sweet and fresh tasting, with such a nice and light flavor. I would steep at or under boiling, for about 10 minutes, sometimes longer, for the perfect cup. I liked that I could customize the flavor experience by lightly crushing some of the seeds through the bag with the back of a spoon. One or two rolls with a spoon, and it was perfect. Doing this immediately before preserves the freshness. Now that it comes pre-crushed (ground, really), most of the aromatics are lost and the tea is more earthy and bitter. All of the sweet freshness is gone. I had bought bag after bag, for years, and now don't even think I can finish this bag. Even more alarming, I got a headache while drinking this tea. That has never happened to me before - only with this new bag of pre-crushed seeds. When I reached out to the seller, I was informed that they pre-crushed the seeds because some customers thought it was too bland before, so they wanted to enhance the flavor. Proper steeping and a light crushing immediately before steeping solves the issue of "bland" tea. So they ruined my favorite tea and I now have to look elsewhere for a high quality, whole-seed tea. I am also stuck with a whole bag of tea that tastes bad and gives me headaches. If they ever go back to whole seeds again, I will update this review to five stars, as that was what it used to be before they made this terrible decision to grind the seeds beforehand. I sincerely hope they reverse this decision. It's also frustrating that the listing still indicates the tea is whole seeds.

I like the German tea better

Maybe my fennel seeds were just very dried out or old but I could not taste any fennel unless I used 2 or 3 bags and even then it was almost non-existent. I've had other brands in the past with much more flavor. This product isn't for me.
