AT&T CD4930 Black Corded Phone with Digital Answering System, Caller ID, Extra-Large Tilt Backlit Display & Big Buttons

This is a big button phone with amplification and clear speaker phone. The integrated answering machine is easy to set up and can be used for call screening, since the outgoing message and incoming voice are heard at all times. There is a subtle beep for waiting messages as well as a visual indicator. The large display for caller ID also shows a scrolling menu for setting up and controlling the phone's functions. Great quality all around.

Purchased for elderly person. They were happy to be able to read the numbers to dial. replaying / deleting voice mail messages difficult for them to complete audio quality very clear

Very easy to install and set up. I bought this for my 91 year old Mother with vision impairment. Her comment is she would like the orange background on the display to be black

Was everything I was hoping! It has big numbers for mature eyes, voice mail box and the caller ID screen is very large....again for the mature eyes. :-). The only thing I don't love about it is the speakerphone, is a little muffled but not bad enough to send it back. Hooked the phone up in less than 5 minutes, I would recommend this just for a home phone or its great for a business phone as well, it does have the capability for call waiting but you do have to have two lines for that feature

My old cordless phone with a built in answerer had finally given up the ghost. Even though it still worked, you couldn't tell what the display was showing anymore and it was beginning to lost connections when away from the base. The main reason was the display as you couldn't tell what you were dialing anymore. At any rate, I really wanted a cord type phone as the cordless was not of any use if a power outage took place. I needed a phone with answerer and number memory so I wouldn't have to keep up with the numbers as I'm really bad keeping up with things like this without keeping notes, etc. I checked this phone out for a replacement for the old one. It seems to have all the features I needed and a few I didn't need. After reading the reviews and looking over the features, I decided it was the one for me. Got it in yesterday and unpacked and looked it over. Liked it's look and styling. I noted it could be wall mounted and as I had once had a wall mounted cord phone that I liked this was great. I got a 25 foot headset cord to go with it and had no trouble installing it. After the usually drilling holes, placing of screws and getting the phone mounted, I had it set up and checked it out. First thing I noted was the answerer's message is very bland and I changed that right off the bat. This was very easy to do and that sort of surprised me as my old one had been a bit of a pain to change. I noted that this phone has easy to read prompts to help and also voice cues to help you. The display was large and easy to read, but the angle on my wall was such that I had to up the contrast to be able to see it OK. This was very easy to do. Changing any settings were very easy to do and the manual that came with it was very helpful in this. Entering numbers in the phone's memory was likewise very easy to do. I did note one thing in the manual however that was a bit confusing. The manual states the phone has 10 speed dial locations and it does, but what it doesn't point out is that these locations are taken from the phone's total memory for phone numbers which is 25 total. So if you store 10 speed dial items, then you only have 15 slots left in the directory slots. In the manual, it seems to say that you have 10 speed dial and 25 phone directory locations when you only have 25 slots total. That said, that's a very minor thing for me. I really liked the ability to turn off the ringer and the call monitoring feature if you wanted to. The display stays off until a call is received or you use the phone. It then comes on and if the call monitor and ringing are off, it stays silent when dealing with the call. My old phone would sometimes wake me up when it received a call and you couldn't turn this off on it. This was a real pleasure for me. It also has volume controls and a type of "tone" adjustment that I set to natural as that sounded good to me. On the power outage front, I noted that if you lose power the basic phone functions are still there as they run off the phone company's line voltage. (My old one would just go dead until the power came back up.) Overall, this phone is just what the doctor ordered for me and I'm very happy with it.

I wanted a corded answering machine to avoid EMF from cordless phones and cell phones, and after buying several different stand-alone answering machines that had crappy sound quality and features, I bought this corded phone answering machine. I have been very pleased with the quality and features. The large display is easy to read, the function buttons operate and are laid out logically, sound quality of call recordings, the greeting, and on the handset is excellent, and plenty loud, even for those who are hard of hearing. There is a large easy to use volume control button on the phone face, so it's easy to adjust the ringer, recording, handset, or speaker phone volume on the fly.Initial setup is intuitive enough that I didn't need the manual to set it up. The screen has amber colored backlighting when a call comes in or when you press any button on the phone. It's easy to read even from a few feet away, but not sure if color blind people may have a problem with the amber backlighting. The power button is a large red lighted button when on, and the message indicator is a large red flashing button that is easy to see from a distance.The phone does NOT require batteries, and since I have it connected to a hard-wired landline, it uses the land line's phantom power to keep settings when we have frequent power outages/blips, so I don't have to reset anything after a power outage. I don't know if it will do this on a VOIP line. You can make calls during a power outage, at least with a hard land line, but the display won't work, unless you have the phone's power supply connected to a UPS.You can record your own custom greeting or use an auto announcement.One caveat, if you pick up a call from an extension, the phone shows it as a missed call on its screen, which I couldn't care less about since I only care about messages, but you can easily scroll through the call log on screen to see any missed calls.Also annoying, if a call comes in and the answering machine picks up and then you pick up on the phone or an extension, the recorder will not shut off, and broadcast your call through the speaker. The only way to stop this is to unplug the power supply.You can wall mount the phone. I see in other reviews references to the instructions being only in Spanish, this was not the case with my phone.

I bought this phone for my mother, who isn't very good with technology, is a bit hard of hearing, and doesn't see very well.I specifically bought the phone for the large LCD display with the orange background, because of its high contrast, and the hearing assist feature.The ringer can be turned up nice and loud, and the hearing assist feature amplifies the caller enough that mom can easily hear the person on the other end. She can also read the caller ID display, so this phone has met my expectations.It's also pretty easy to use. When viewing the caller ID list, if she wants to call someone back, all she needs to do is pick up the handset and the phone will dial the number. So she can use this phone even though she's not very technologically savvy.There are a few things that I don't like about the phone.- Limited Directory listings. You can only store 25 numbers into memory. These days when you may have a home phone, plus two or three mobile numbers for a family member, 25 numbers just isn't adequate. Especially if you need to take into account: Children (and spouses) grandchildren, friends, etc... 50 would be a better limitation, while 100 numbers would probably be ideal.- Directory isn't alphabetical! I can't figure this one out, as it would seem that alphabetizing your phone list would be basic functionality. However, this phone doesn't seem to think so. What this means, is that it makes it difficult to find individual phone numbers using the directory. The directory has a feature (most phones do this) that you can enter the directory, then press one of the number keys to go directly to a letter of the alphabet. In theory, this makes it easy to locate a number. Calling a name starting with a "J"? Press the 5 button and start scrolling through the "J's". With this phone though, the numbers are in the directory in the order you've added them... So, you can press the 5 button to get to the J's, but scrolling down may go J, S, B, etc... This just doesn't make any sense to me... The manual says the entries will be sorted alphabetically if you go to a letter and scroll down, but this isn't the case. No matter how I try to scroll through the directory, it isn't sorted properly.- Abridged manual. For some reason, the manual included with this phone is the abridged version. If you want the full manual, you'll need to download the .PDF from AT&T's support site.The abridged manual doesn't describe some functionality that I would consider necessary information. For example, the abridged manual tells you how to add your home area code, as well as four alternate local area codes. What it doesn't explain is what this area code is used for. In my area, the area code is required on local calls, so the phone should display 10 numbers. Thinking that adding the area code would enable this functionality, I added it as my home area code. Then I was trying to figure out why the caller ID was only showing 7 numbers. So if you tried to call a number back using the caller ID information, the call wouldn't go through because it won't dial the area code first.After trying to figure out what was going on, I noticed that the manual said it was the abridged version... What? So I went to AT&T's website and downloaded the full manual. The full manual describes that the function of adding the area code is the opposite of what I would expect. Adding your home area code to the phone will cause the caller ID data to NOT show the area code! If you need the area code to make local calls, don't add your area code... The full manual also explains how to change this data on the fly using the pound key. If a number comes through as showing only 7 digits and you need 10, you can press the pound key to add the area code to the number. Why isn't this in the abridged manual?- Audio assist is per call. You can't tell the phone to always use audio assist. You must press the audio assist button each time you are on a call. I can see how this would make sense if multiple users are going to be using the phone, but if only a single person will be using it and they are hard of hearing, it would be nice to have a way to always enable the audio assist.

This is the second time we’ve ordered this phone, the first time was in 2015. That phone lasted until last week, when it started making a funny beeping noise that nothing we did fixed. It was still operational, but we decided to just purchase another phone. We were very happy to see that this brand and model was still available for purchase on this site, so we ordered it. It is very easy to set up and has all the features we need-answering machine, call forwarding & call waiting, ability to block calls or record. Never had any issues with the first one so we would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an easy to use phone.

Had an issue with phone, they acted professionally and resolved with issue right away. I was impressed with their communication and have no issue doing business with them again.

The Lead on this phone as it came from USA and Canada was intermittent and in the end stopped working i` have contacted the supplier awaiting a reply.
