My hotel Chocolat velvetiser broke after 3 years and I bought a karaca machine, but it was so bad, hard to clean and burnt my tongue. Finally decided to buy this one after hearing dualit also manufactured the hotel Chocolat one too. And it's amazing, I've missed having velvety hot chocolate! And my partner can make latte's again now! Whoop whoop! Heats to the perfect temperature as well. Love the extra accessories Vs the velvetiser too. Came with a few free chocolate packs but tbh I probs won't use. Appreciated all the same. Pricing was an absolute steal since I got an Amazon open box one but still looked brand new and unused, same day delivery too. Almost £20 saved and £40 Vs a velvetiser. Only suggestion is maybe lower pricing in general? And adding a handle would be nice.

Best thing I've ever bought, I think. Makes a lovely smooth hot chocolate, whether you use chocolate or powder (don't use too much powder or a lot gets clumped at the bottom/in the whisk bit. Use milk, rather than water, for a smoother hot chocolate). It's not too noisy, when in operation, finishes in a couple of minutes, and really useful. It does only make 1 cup at a time, but really ideal if you live alone

You get a surprisingly good drink, but if using block chocolate I find it does not all melt and build up on the plastic tray. The temperature is spot on. The only really bad thing is I find that we my hard water I get a lot of marks on the copper surface.

Best thing I have brought, if your thinking of buying the hotel chocolate velvetiser save your money this is just as good only difference is no handle. It's great making hot chocolate with actual chocolate pieces finely chopped, frothing milk for coffee, you name it does it for your hot drinks. Brought it as a Christmas gift for partner and he and myself have used it everyday, we have a coffee machine and it's less hassle to sort out the hot milk. BUY IT, also if your worried about kids doing hot drinks this is perfect as it's safe to use and safe to handle the outside doesn't get hot at all.

Cocotiser compared to Velvetiser produces a much hotter drink and smoother consistency. Marginally a better piece of equipment though the Velvetiser benefits from a handle improving grip. Cocotiser is a marginal upgrade on the Velvetiser though it is best to continue with the Velvetiser chocolate sachets for a luxury taste. Surprisingly Cocotiser is a cheaper option than the Velvetiser which prematurely failed. The whisk in the Cocotiser is more robust and has a viewing window to ensure drink is thoroughly mixed too.

Very impressed. Of course I was tempted by the Velvetiser but this one at £55 does the job just as well. It might have been nice to have the handle but not for an extra £40. Easy to clean and the temperature is good with a warmed cup.

This Dualit Hot Chocolate Maker looks identical to the Hotel Chocolat one apart from the handle on the outside, so I was excited to try it as its significantly lower priced - even though its still quite expensive at nearly £70.00 at the time of writing. Its a really nice looking product, beautiful copper finish and feels nice quality. It has a separate base that supplies the power and has a whisk and tray attachment that goes inside. There's a single power button to switch it on. It only makes one serving at a time, but only takes about 3 minutes to make. The chocolate comes out quite hot. I can't fault it as such, but I'm afraid I was a bit underwhelmed with the result. It wasn't particularly frothy, or anything especially spectacular. It was just Hot Chocolate. I'm not sure what I expected, but with all of the hype and expense of this type of machine I think I was expecting something really special. I used the proper Hotel Chocolat flaked chocolate and skimmed milk. To be honest I prefer the result of using milk from a Cappuccino frother and making it manually. I guess its easy, and automated, but a bit of a pain if there's more than one of you. After two uses, you need to cool it down for a minute by filling it with cold water before continuing which makes it even more slow. So in summary, I can't really fault it. Its a nice looking product that oozes quality, makes a nice hot chocolate and is a more price friendly alternative to the Velvetiser, but its just not exciting me that much.

1 star, but it should probably be Amazon’s fault. This product has a European outlet, yet Amazon makes not mention at the top of the page, nor do any photos feature the outlet. Pretty stupid to not warn people prior to the purchase. Could I have scrolled down and viewed the reviews that mention this? Probably. But a customer shouldn’t have to search reviews to find out it’s a flawed product for sale in the U.S. And this company should care more about it’s brand, if it did, it would make sure customers are aware of the outlet issue.

The Power cord does not match the American standard outlet. Not worth the price paid.
