Great story, well written!
Before starting the book, there is a short note from the author simply stating “Dedicated to the fans of RuneScape - I hope I’ve done the setting proud.” And did he ever! This is an amazing expansion upon events that our character in the game has learned of the past, showing not only how events unfolded at a deeper level than our quests have shown us, but expanding upon some of the characters that we as players meet in-game, showing the true depth of betrayals, courage, and sacrifices. The story itself is about as full of action as you can possibly cram into a 390 page book, yet still manages to include plenty of plot along the way. It ties in almost seamlessly with the lore already in the game, and yet is told in a way that even those having never played the game could still easily understand and enjoy the plot from start to finish.I take my hat off to author Robbie MacNiven. It’s clear that not only does he do an exceptional job of writing a story in general, but that he took the time to fully understand the world in which he was writing, the history and current events of that world, the future his story is leading into, and each and every character’s past, present, and future as well to ensure that this story can stand alongside the existing lore without contradicting or being contradicted by anything.Whether you’re RS3, OSRS, or someone who hasn’t played either game, I’d greatly recommend this book. It is a standalone story as well, so no need to read anything else first or look for a future sequel. Jagex is doing well with this Titan Books partnership, and whoever is choosing these authors is spot on with choosing people who care about doing the story right. Bravo!

A great addition to the game's lore!
I just started reading, and I am already hooked and in-love with the book, making characters feel like they are straight from the game, even revealing a more deeper side of them, the book is meeting all expectations!
