Wish I had this book years ago when I first learned to knit. Patty Lyons has perfected terrific knitting hacks that make knitted items have a professional finish. I have learned so much from this book to perfect my knitting technique. High praise for this DIY book for knitters.

Well written book. Easy to follow and learn new techniques

I am in LOVE with this workbook! I had dabbled in the 1st book a bit, but it seemed incomplete to me. So, that this workbook is it's companion, well - needless to say, it now feels complete! It's like Patty Lyons is right here with me learning! I'm a low budget gal and workshops just aren't affordable for me, so these books are an excellent resource to really get me into the why of knitting! I'm also a learner at the core, so this style is just up my alley too! The creative aspect really makes it mine and not a one size fits all. It may seem like it's one size fits all, but because your own stuff goes into it, you get that much more out of it! I hope that makes sense. I also love how the pages are spiral bound. That makes it lay flat! Who doesn't love that! The stickers are such a cute addition and all for part of the cost - Thanks Patty! Patty, if you read this, I really want to thank you for being brave enough to put yourself out there all that time ago. Leaving your other job to peruse this wonderful past time art - is just courageous! Thank you SO very much for taking that leap of faith to put yourself out there. I am a huge fan of Patty Lyon's Knitting Bag of Tricks and was so excited to get her latest Workbook, which is fantastic. This book is designed to meet you where you are as a knitter to bring your skills to the next level. Whether you are a relatively new knitter with everything to learn, or are someone who is extremely experienced (and everyone in between), you will find easy to understand instructions, explanations and skill building exercises to make you a better knitter. I'm excited to work through the exercises and add to my skills, which will open up opportunities for me to tackle more complicated patterns with more confidence (and less anxiety). I appreciate Patty's explanations and the workbook-style of this book which adds an element of fun to the learning process. Patty clearly spent a lot of time and energy to create a book that's meant to be user-friendly and will become an often reached for treasured resource.

I love the original book, but this one really drive everything home. It forced me to knit and then actually LOOK at my knitting. Patty is a genious and this workbook will teach you how to comfortably implement her tricks

I really like this workbook. It’s a great companion to Knitting Bag of Tricks and helps you actually practice the techniques instead of just reading about them. There were a couple of things that made it a little frustrating to use. The workbook refers back to the main book by section headers, but many of those headers aren’t listed in the table of contents and aren’t easy to find in the index either. I ended up doing a lot of flipping through pages to find the right section. Once I found it, I wrote the page number into the workbook so it will be easy to find again, but it would have been helpful if that had just been included. It also would have helped to have a clear list at the beginning of the yarn needed for each lesson. I only had one ball of non-superwash wool and later realized I needed a second ball because the first swatch stays on the needles until lesson 6. I also needed additional colors. Having that information up front would make it easier to prepare and move through the exercises without waiting for yarn to arrive. I also have NO idea where to purchase yarns of different materials but the same weight. Guess I'll have to figure that out. Overall, it’s a very useful workbook. It's just a little harder to navigate than it needs to be.

I’m still waiting on the book to arrive before I can dive into this workshop but after watching a a Kristy Glass video with Patty on YouTube, I knew I had to get these resources. I consider myself a beginner - maybe intermediate/advanced beginner if I’m being generous! - and have have changed my knitting style from death-gripping English to relaxed Continental. It never occurred to me to use my needle as a measuring cup. I knitted a new swatch last night for a pattern I want to try and after implementing her techniques and changing, yet again!) how I knit, I actually made gauge. That has not happened ever!!! I always have to go down in needle size by 2-3 sizes. I’m waiting on a bamboo circular set to swatch again because my metal needles felt really slick for the yarn I’m using. Again, never occurred to me that I’d need different “tools” for different projects even though it’s so obvious lol Virgin legs I’m still getting the hang of but sizing the stitch using the right needle instead of flinging the stitch off has been a total game changer. So so grateful for this woman’s wealth of knowledge. And she’s a hoot to listen to lol

Really good, helpful workbook. A few of us in a Knitters' Guild are working through the book together, and we're finding it helpful in improving our knitting. Many of us discovered, when using Patty's alternative knitting methods, that our purls improved for example. Great for new knitters and seasoned knitters alike.

He comprado bastantes libros de punto. Llevo mucho tiempo buscando algo así. Da igual cuanto tarde, aún estoy intentando descubrir que tipo de tejedora soy. Compré un libro para aprender el método continental solo para entender que no va conmigo. Con este libro por fin entiendo que hago y por qué a veces las cosas salen mal. ¡Necesito entender, no solo imitar! Oh my goodness, this is a gem of a book! It’s actually more of a folder with exercises to work through, stickers, sheets to complete and loads of exercises to complete Patty Lyon’s knitting bag of tricks book. Such fun for anyone who wants to learn to knit or to improve their knitting game. Well written, engaging and super fun. Definitely treat someone you love to knitting wisdom, they’ll thank you for it.
