So far, not so good. I purchased this set to replace my "stock" pump and filter on my Intex above-ground pool. While assembling, I was inserting the connector into the "pump" port on the backwash valve. I was tightening the adapter and before 50% of the threads were into the port, the upper wall of the port split! I have to buy a new backwash valve. This one is trash! Also, the ports seem reversed; They are intuitively wrong. Update: I wrote a poor review a few days ago, giving this system a "1." it was purely because the backwash valve broke as I was installing the fitting to attach the hose from the pump to the filter. I ended up throwing away the hose and hard-plumbing the whole thing. Aside from the poor quality of the backwash valve, I can safely say that this has been an excellent pump/filter combo. for my above-ground pool. It has approximately doubled my circulation and tripled my filtration area. I have not received my new backwash valve yet, but I've "patched" the broken one. It leaks a little, but not enough for me to have to shut the system down. I've seen enough of improvement in the water clarity and cleanliness to be able to say that this is a great solution for my pool. I have re-rated the pump/filter combo to a "5."

While the pump itself performs well, there are some areas where XtremepowerUS could enhance the overall user experience. Clear Installation Instructions: XtremepowerUS should include detailed installation instructions in the product packaging. As a consumer, I expect clear guidance on how to set up the filter pump correctly. Unfortunately, this information was lacking in my purchase. Specifically, I recommend providing step-by-step instructions with visual diagrams. Highlight essential points such as hose connections. Adapter Information: The filter pump is not compatible with both Intex and Bestway pool hoses. However, this crucial detail was not adequately communicated. XtremepowerUS could easily address this by including a single sheet of paper inside the box. This sheet should explain the different adapters required for Intex and Bestway hoses. A simple diagram showing how to attach these adapters would be immensely helpful. Customers often struggle with finding the right fittings, and having this information readily available would save time and frustration. Screw-On Adapter Inclusion: Many users, myself included, appreciate convenience. A screw-on adapter for Intex and Bestway hoses would have been a thoughtful addition. Including this adapter in the box would demonstrate that XtremepowerUS values its customers’ experience. It’s a minor investment that can significantly improve user satisfaction. In summary, while the XtremepowerUS filter pump performs admirably, enhancing the packaging with better instructions and adapter information would make it an even more customer-friendly product. As a consumer, I hope that XtremepowerUS takes these suggestions into consideration for future releases.

So far, it works great, but I installed it today and it's only been 3-4hrs....lol The layout of the ports is wonky, to say the least. I had to place it so the pump inlet was facing the direction of the two return inlets on our Coleman 22ft round. With that layout, the return port cannot face the direction of the return water on the pool. Our Armstrong pump was much better designed in this regard. But @ 4500gph, you can bet I'll find a way to make it work. I'll certainly hard pipe it later, but because of the wonky layout, it's going to have more turns than I would like. Of course, I'll use the sloping 90° elbows so each turn is gradual enough to not affect performance too much. The other significant drawback is the lack of a power switch and/or timer. Like another reviewer, I'll be adding a switch for the dedicated outlet I recently installed for this pump. Perhaps even a fancy timer switch (never seen one, but surely it's a thing). All-in-all, it's exactly what I wanted in terms of high flow and vacuum to waste capability. A huge improvement over the wimpy cartridge pump that come with these pools.

Great product very powerful! I have well Water and this is the only thing that has ever kept my poor crystal clear. Easy set up. You must have a heavy duty outdoor extension cord for this.

This is a great, inexpensive sand filter pump. A good alternative to the pipsqueak sand filter pump that came with my pool. It boasts a 1.5HP pump which gives awesome flow. It was fairly straightforward to install, but beware of leaks. The manual says to use a couple layers of teflon tape. I suggest 8-10 layers, no joke. The flex pipe from the pump to the multiport valve is somewhat difficult to install as it must be aligned perfectly. I suggest two people to put this together and install. Other than that, I have had zero issues. Flow is great. Seems to be just as good as Hayward or Pentair without paying crazy prices.

I was super happy with this product last year. It ran like a dream. Set it up this year and the main valve is leaking out the discharge opening while it is set on filter and recirculation. Not just drops but a steady stream. After spending over $300 I would have thought it would have lasted longer. Very disappointed in product. The only reason I gave it three stars is because it did work well before valve issues.
