Beautiful black finish with easy application and no mess
I bought this because the top of my wood stove had some rust spots, but it looked so good that I repainted the entire thing, including the stovepipe. The last time it got redone I used the polish, which never really cured ( touching the stove left black smears on your hand even years later) and smoked like mad the first time we had a fire afterwards. This paint was completely cured in ten minutes ( no smears ) and there was no smoke when we fired up the stove. I used a small sponge as recommended and did thin overlapping strokes, and there are no issues with brush strokes. I highly, highly recommend this product for someone looking to refinish their wood stove or stovepipe, especially over the polish.

Renews your fireplace
I suggest wearing gloves. Use a cloth and dip into the jar. Just wipe the black restoring cream over the stove or insert. It can also be used on the tools. Makes a big difference in appearance. It's easy to use.

Works Fine
Applied to a cast iron and steel stove. The cast iron seems to absorb the Restorer instantly. The steel portions are a bit resistant but a couple of coats make an acceptably black coating. I don't understand the negative reviews regarding the Restorer wiping off because I left it on until it dried, not just 10 minutes, and when wiped Nothing came off the stove on the cloth. A bit of care is needed in applying it because the Restorer is the consistency of cream shoe polish and drips can easily get on anything, including clothes, but luckily, if caught right away, it washes right out with soap and water; Same for stains on skin. The Restorer is just fine on our stove. Edited to note that I fired it up today and there is just a slight odd odor but nothing concerning.

Works Well
good stuff, works well I used it on a black cast aluminum table that I keep in the yard. The table was turing gray and the coating was coming off in spots from the sun and the weather. This product made a dramatic improvement, and the table still looks pretty good now, three months later. In a couple of more months I'll do it again. Yes, I could repaint it. But this stuff only took about 20 minutes to apply. I did not prep the surface. I just got a rag and rubbed this stuff in.

Like new again!
Oh my! I’m sooo happy! This treatment made my potbelly stove like new! It was so easy to apply, polish, and cure! I did it on my own, my hubby was delighted too! I missed one spot, I’ll touch it up later. The entire stove was rusted more than the spot I missed! You won’t be disappointed!

Mixed feelings on this one
Alot of the reviews are true. Put two coats on my woodburning stove. Comes out looking real glossy, then dies to a matte finish. The day after I have all these white like dots on stove. I will see if a third coat will help. Makes it look neat and clean, just do t like those white marks.

I don't recommend this for wood burning stoves.
This goes on easily and looks good. Then any place the fire is real hot, it disappears. I got high temp spray paint in addition. So far that has held up.

Very good product
Very good product, easy to use, no smell and the tub will last for years, hardly used anything of it for my stove and my cast iron fire place. Good finish that gets better as it cures.
