Needed this as I went from a 18x24 to a full 36x 42 enclosure. My veiled chameleon loves to sit underneath his basking light, and even stretches his body on his side to max out surface area. Later in the day, I drop to one light (toggle switches for each light) to help start his bedtime prep (he takes about 2 hours to finally chill out and hit the rack. He goes all lights out at 7pm and they go back on around 7am. I also run two UV lights right next to the heat lamp, so everything works great. If you have a wide area enclosure, you could consider two lights systems, or use higher rated bulbs. Great product and still working great after a year. Make sure to use plenty of hiding spots so they can escape the lights. I use an automatic misting dual bore nozzle system, plus two ficus and one large pathos (fills the whole enclosure now). While the lamps do keep the enclosure dry, remember to spray more. I spray 45 seconds every 6 hours. I sometimes switch to 15 seconds every hour, depending on how long I leave his lights on. Be careful with cheap bulbs as there are no screen covers, if they break. This could hurt your little one, so be cautious and check the bulbs for fissure. Great purchase all around.

Has worked perfectly for our turtle. We haven’t had any issues with this product since we bought it. It has a red and a white lamp and we use both interchangeably. Has lasted a few months and still going strong..

I bought this for my pet turtles. I needed a lamp that can lit 2 bulbs at a time. A uva bulb and a uvb bulb. I like how it has 2 buttons on each wire so you can have one bulb off and other on or both off. You don’t have to keep unplugging the lamp from an outlet. The look is nice. Durability is ok. So the big metal hood is easily bendable which can be a pain because then you have to properly mold it so that it can fit in the lamp’s housing. I guess the heat generation is normal since the bulbs that I use for my turtles get hot. One is a 50w heat bulb and the other is a 13w uvb bulb. This product is valued at the right place. I went to Pet-smart and this same lamp that had the same functionality was literally double the price which is crazy.

I feel like the cord should be in a heat protected sleeve because it rests on the hot part and not much to be able to change that
