I love every aspect of the Moonman 2
I love every aspect of the Moonman 2. The glass eyedropper which is included makes filling the MM2 a “no fuss, no muss” event. The eyedropper fits perfectly in the ink reservoir and ‘voila’, it’s ready to write, the filling time needed is about the same as installing a cartridge and I think shorter than a “piston” do-hicky pen. The inner ink space of the MM2 is vast, seems like a few times of that of the capacity of a cartridge OR piston provides. At its widest point the MM2 is about a half an inch (12.7MM), the ink reservoir is about 2 inches long (51MM), resulting in an ink reserve of about half of the entire pens physical volume. That is a lot of ink. The fine nib (pun intended) glides, making for a smooth and consistent writing experience. I used Pilot Iroshizuku Shin-kai (Deep Sea) dark blue ink. The MM2 never skipped, blotted, blobbed, scratched or stopped getting the ink on the paper in a fine line, in fine fashion. The MM2 posts fairly snuggly, however will disengage with the slightest pressure. The disengagement is not due to a design flaw, but rather due to the super smooth acrylic body. MM2’s fine nib may have convinced me to convert from my normal fountain pen diet of a medium nib. The fine nib by definition results in a fine width of ink on the paper, line with less dramatic flair than a medium nib lays down. The clean & uncluttered design of MM2 reminds me of the famed Fisher bullet space pen. This design affinity may explain its MoonMan name. If the MM2 could write in zero gravity, astronauts may begin composing lyrical space soliloquies using the MM2. The clear, high polish acrylic body is tapered at both ends making it visually well balanced (although not perfectly symmetrical), and showcases the color of ink you dropped in. This brings a fun aspect to the pen since the color of the pen IS the color of YOUR ink, so you participate in determining the final appearance of the MM2 by your ink color choice. I love the opaque plastic “presentation box”, which can be repurposed into pen/pencil carrying box. It is well made, sturdy with a secure locking tab. There are no branding marks on the box except the high quality construction which matches the pen, which is a big plus for me. It’s a box that can be used, not put on display or stored in the closet. The MM2’s thin metal branding band comes in any color you like, as long as it is red. While the MM2 is perfectly fine as it is, I do wish the MM2 had a cap option available with an integrated pocket clip. Likely a conscious design decision, I don’t think it would dilute MM2’s brand or design integrity and would increase its mobility. It is clear; the Moonman 2 is a great pen, especially when considering its price. I am thinking of getting a few more Moonman 2 pens so I can fill each with a different color to match my changing writing mood.

A gorgeous pleasure to write with
I absolutely love this pen. Firstly, it is beautiful to look at and to hold. I filled it with Thornton's Red ink, in the customary manner of matching the pen to ink color, and it is just a wonder to behold. The clear acrylic is luminous and sets off the translucency of the deep red ink creating an almost magical effect. I also really like the solid acrylic caps on both ends. They capture and bend the light in ways that are delightful. I also really like the red band with the MOONMAN brand printed across it. It's not my custom to be a brand loyalist. I learned my lesson with Apple. But MOONMAN has definitely won me over. I'm officially a fan. In terms of how it writes, I have come across nothing negative whatsoever. It just works. Its got a nice even flow. It never skips of fades at the edges of the letters. The feel of the gold colored steel nib across the paper is smooth and comfortable. I've only had it for a few days, and I've been writing with it more or less constantly, so I don't know how it will respond to being left alone for a an extended period of time. But I'm confident it will be fine. There are some aspects of it that some people might not like. Over the course of the first day a bit of red ink crept its way onto the lower edge of the nib, under the "section" as I've heard it called. And sometimes a bit of condensation gathers on the interior of the pen cap when it's screwed on. Neither of these issues concern me much. At first I was bothered by the ink on the shaft of the nib, but it didn't last. It doesn't take away from the overall beauty of the pen. I think this is a great pen for a beginner, and a great pen for a long time collector. I will likely acquire more expensive pens in the future. I've been eyeing a Visconti Homo Sapiens, but I really can't imagine liking an expensive pen all that much more than this one. It is a very beautiful, highly functional, incredibly affordable object. I don't think you can ask for much more.

Great Pen for the Price
I recently purchased the ‘MOONMAN’ fountain pen with an EF nib. I have been wanting to test drive this pen for a while. Normally I do not write reviews but this pen deserved one. To preface this review I want to say that I am a designer that has a keen eye for detail. Upon receiving the pen from Amazon I was extremely impressed with the attention to detail in the packaging. Also, the package design of the box that included the pen and the eye dropper tool was very well designed. Now for the pen itself. I personally loved the transparent design. For my size hand, which is on the large size, it fit perfectly and was very well balanced. The materials seemed to be of a very high quality, including the nib itself. this is my very first eye dropper fountain pen and i was concerned that it may leak but after inspecting the design i was reassured that this would not happen because of the beautiful design of the nib assembly with o-ring that prevents any ink to leak out of the pen. Very well thought out. I loaded the barrel of the pen with montblanc ink using the eye dropper unit that was included with the pen. It worked beautifully. The ink flowed thru the nib rather quickly and the pen started with ease. writing with the ‘MOONMAN’ was pretty smooth and much better than i had anticipated. The one thing that I wished was that the EF nib was finer. It seemed more like a japanese fine point. Despite that, I loved writing with its smooth nib which would make anyone very happy with its performance. No skipping what so ever. All in all I would recommend this pen to anyone who is looking for a very reliable well designed and inexpensive fountain pen. You can not go wrong. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BS9ZGLT/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0

Beautiful Pen and Unique Design
EDIT: I bought a replacement extra fine nib unit and fine from an ebay seller and it wrote perfectly so I'm guessing the one I bought here that came with the pen was a fluke. Looking at all the units, I noticed a trend that each nib was seated slightly off from the feed — a manufacturing characteristic it seems as the grip section has a special groove for the nib to slide into which was constantly slightly off from the groove the feed slips into in the grip section on all the units I bought. This leaves roughly 1mm play with an inclination towards inexact seating. While this isn't a problem as it doesn't inpede proper ink flow, it's something I noticed. (see pictures) Additionally and more noteworthy is the poor threading quality between the barrel and cap. It's functional but not at all as satisfying as other screw cap fountain pens I've used. Then again, they did cost more. All and all, the design is very unique and the writing experience is still enjoyable for the price, it's a good buy but it hasn't changed my mind on Chinese fountain pens. Currently inked with Platinum Lavender Black, my absolute favorite. PREVIOUS REVIEW: The pen is beautiful, flawless and looks rather fancy. When I tried writing with it, I was disappointed to find that the nib was awfully scratchy. I'd still buy it again if given the choice but you may want to consider using a different nib. Not sure what the size is though. Fyi, the kaweco clip fits it rather nicely. I got the idea from posts I saw on reddit. It makes for a nice addition.

Fantastic looking pen.
I would give it 4,5 starts if I could. The reasons: the nib was not quite straight aligned with the feed and the pen ( even though I knew it before I bought it) constantly rolls away. Otherwise it is a fantastic pen. It looks great, especially with emerald green ink in it. It does show every internal detail which is great and attracts the eyes. The pen is very slick and if your hands have the habit of getting sweaty, you'll have to wipe it down because it gets slippery and it also shows on the body of the pen. I knew that the pen is absolutely symmetrical and has no roll protection but I did not appreciate it as much as I have with this pen. It takes just a bit of getting used to with placing the pen on the desk so that it doesn't roll off the table. I got the extra fine nib, and it writes as thin as I wanted, but not the thinnest lines that you can get. There's just a whiff of scratching the paper, but it's absolutely fine. Ink capacity is tremendous for my use and I guess that's what you come to expect from an eyedropper pen. The cap takes about two revolutions to screw off. It does post, but not the most secure state, and I would not suggest posting the cap because that might scratch the body of the pen a bit over time. Fantastic pen. I might consider the C1 as well.

Update: Great Pen/Great Price
Updated 8/26/18. Just after I posted the review about my purchase being defective the seller contacted me and arranged for a replacement. The replacement is every bit as delightful to use as my Moonman 2 with the fine nib. I generally use fine and extra fine nib fountain pens and expect a bit of feedback/scratchiness with an EF nib. I was surprised that this EF nib is not scratchy. It sounds a bit scratchy but doesn't feel that way on decent paper. On good paper, it is quite smooth. There is a bit of feedback on cheap paper, but nothing that makes this pen unpleasant to use. The Moonman 2 F or Moonman 2 EF are nearly as smooth writing as my 14 k gold nib pens. Because of the excellent customer service, I will buy from this seller in the future. I received no compensation beyond the replacement of the defective pen, nor was the replacement conditioned on updating my review. Defective. I struggled with how to rate this since I have two and one is exceptional. This rating refers to the MM2 with the extra fine nib. I have the same pen with the fine nib and it's 5 star all the way. On the other hand, this extra fine nib pen couldn't be worse. The body doesn't screw into the nib properly. The feed/section is full of some kind of debris that partially blocks the ink. The nib needs tuning or repair. It skips badly. This is a real disappointment since the first MM2 I purchased with the fine nib has one of the finest nibs I've used. It's an awesome pen and looks great. This EF version could not be more opposite. There is no way this pen should have made it through even minimum quality control. Photo showing feed/section blockage is attached.

A truly perfect pen. It's beautiful, feels good in the hand, holds a ton of ink, and the nib feels surprisingly great!
The Moonman M2 is truly a flawless pen. (Seriously!) I own pens that cost many many times more and it's still a favorite. The body is very well manufactured with clear acrylic. The red band is sleek and unique. It has an 'expensive' look. Even the nib is beautiful... and it writes exceptionally well right out of the box. It holds a ton of ink. It's under 2 spins to cap. It has a high quality German feed that is much nicer than the feeds on my other Chinese pens. The threads feel good - not sharp. I would compare the quality of manufacturing to my nice Japanese pens. It's that good. Whether it's a person's first pen or adding it to a collection - this pen is a classic and I absolutely recommend it. EDIT: I thought of ONE "complaint" to mention. It will roll on your desk so you have to be careful! But that's just the design of this incredibly smooth clipless pen. That and the nib is pretty firm (but that's to be expected with a gold plated steel nib.) But yeah, I rate this pen 5 out of 5 stars. Easily.

Pretty good pen if you change the nib.
So I purchased the Moonman M2, I just thought it was such a sleek demonstrator pen so figured I'd give it a go since it was only $20. Here's my thoughts on it: -Nice to hold, good shape, light weight -Terrible nib. Super scratchy and little to no ink flow whatsoever. Purchased it with a fine nib. I ended up switching the nib out with an extra medium nib I had lying around. Now it writes like a charm and pretty much saved this purchase. Note: I have spoken to other people who purchased this pen and had no problems with their nibs. Could be I just got one with a bad nib.

Leve, linda e delicada

Best Fountain Pen on market.
Moonman Fountain pens are my absolute favorite pens. Great ink capacity and super easy to fill and to clean. The Nib of this pen, as all Moonman pens, is especially to my liking as it is quite fine. Well made and well presented. This pen come highly recommended.
