Great pot in a useful size.
This pot is very well made just like all my other Cuisinart pots and pans. It distributes heat evenly with the heavy bottom. I have a pretty large stew pot from the set of Cuisinart pans that I already owned. This one is the perfect step in between. I have been using my set of Cuisinart for about 15 years now. Previously we had other brand name sets with Teflon that would have to be replaced in about 5 years, did not do a good sear and weren't made to go in the oven. Cast iron was not an option due to my glass top stove. I finally went for the solid stainless steel set of Cuisinart and have never regretted it. I thought that I would not like the frying pans but find that they are wonderful to use and easy to clean when you know a couple of tricks (I will share at the end.) They are excellent to sear steaks with a finish in the oven. This pot lives up to the quality of all my other Cuisinart pots and pans and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Cleaning tips: I use my skillets to sear steaks at very high heat then do a finish in a hot oven. After I remove the steaks and they are resting, I immediately put the hot pan into the sink and add water to it. This is like adding wine to your pan to 'deglaze' only this is for cleaning purposes. Then I use the spatula to scrape any stubborn bits. Most often I can get all the bits this way. For any stubborn bits and discoloration I use soft scrub; apply and let sit a few minutes then use a scrubbie. I can get the pan clean and put away before the steaks are done resting.

My Odyssey
So, I bought this pot to replace my current Cuisinart stock pot that was showing signs of wear. Really? Mustn’t be too good of a pot to show signs of wear, right? No. Actually my current pot was a gift for my 30th birthday. I am 77 years old. That pot weathered 47 years of everyday use and abuse!! It was perfect. Saw my family through every night dinner, and massive family celebrations. I’m sad. Gonna miss it!

Perfect for stovetop or oven
Love! This pot is a beauty and so functional. I used it for making pasta and chicken Alfredo and it cooked beautifully with no sticking and came out of dishwasher looking gorgeous again. Heavyweight bottom keeps it stable on my stovetop and the pot is also great for soups and stews and could also be a used for frying or in the oven. So versatile great value!

A good value, nice size and shape, induction compatible
When we recently bought a new stove with an induction top, I needed a compatible soup pot but didn't want to pay for a top-chef type model, but my old one had set a pretty high bar. I chose the Cuisinart because it's a good brand, and stainless steel with no non-stick lining, and seemed very reasonably priced compared to others I looked at. Overall, I'm very happy with it. It seems somewhat lightweight for a stock pot, but it does make moving a full pot easier and safer, and it heats quickly, but I would expect that because of the induction process. My husband hasn't adjusted to the lighter weight and has a tendency to let food cook hotter and longer, so we've had some seriously burned-on bottom layers; soaking and a boil with cream of tartar has taken care of that, but it does seem harder to clean than my old, heavier stainless steel pot, hence the 4-star rating.. I've learned to be more vigilant and to stir often, and have had good results. The all metal cover sits securely on top, and we were pleased to discover it fits perfectly on the 10" Cuisinart frying pan we also bought.

Manufacturing defect - delaminated
After only two uses, this pot became delaminated. It now sounds like there is sand moving around inside of it. I would expect higher quality from Cuisinart. I attempted to report the issue but Amazon's link is broken so I have no option for replacement.

6-Quarts is Great
When you want to boil water for pasta but don't want to use a larger stockpot, this 6 quart size is perfect. I have other Cuisinart Chef's Classic pots, so this matches the rest. The measurement graduations etched into the pot help filling to the right level. Build quality, heat distribution, and durability are on par with my other Cuisinart Chef's Classic pots.

Ruined from the first use, bad quality.
As soon as it arrived I immediately saw something wrong. The pot is very thin at the bottom and I was already biased. The fact is that I started to boil water to make very simple rice. After I cooked the rice the pot began to have black holes in the bottom completely out of nowhere. The rice had stuck in the pot with the water inside it's absurd. I asked for a replacement and the situation was the same. Don't buy this pot because it's not worth it if you're looking for something that lasts and is non-toxic.

Buena
