Peace of Mind for Pet Owners
I’ve never written an Amazon review, but this deserved one. I bought this camera so I could keep an eye on my sick cat while I’m at work, and it has been one of the best purchases I’ve made. The video quality is clear, the app is easy to use, and I love being able to check in on her anytime, day or night. Being able to open the app and see that she’s resting comfortably has taken a huge amount of stress and worry off my shoulders. The live view has been reliable, the notifications work well, and the setup was quick and simple. One feature I especially love is that I can keep the camera feed on while I’m doing other things on my phone, so I don’t have to stop what I’m doing to keep an eye on her. If you’re looking for an affordable camera to monitor your pets- especially one with medical needs.. I highly recommend this. The peace of mind alone makes it worth every penny. I honestly wish I had bought it sooner.

I’d tell my best friend to get one
Love this cam. It was easy to setup and the picture quality is top tier. Field of view is also worth it. I’d give the app 7/10 because it’s literally doing too much.

WYZE CAM V 4 is a very good deal. Thanks AMAZON
I tried a different camera from a different company and it was really a hazel setting up so I sent it back and for a lesser price no contracts and a basic free plan that actually works. I set this camera up in about an hour. It wouldn’t have take that long but I first programmed the wrong camera. In the app store download use the WYZE app with the W in the middle the other two apps want subscription plans and I don’t even think they are WYZE apps. I put in a 256MB micro card and set it to be continuous. When it is full just reformat the card and start recording over. You don’t need the card it works without one. Lots of the directions are in real small print on the app. Read them careful on that app as you set it up. There is no scanning of a QR code to set it up. Just put in your Wi-Fi Name and Password. I don’t know if it works away from home. I guessing it does. I like it and I’m hoping I can see my pets when I’m away from home or when she has whelped a litter. I had a ZMODO camera but it broke but before it broke it was on a basic free plan for life and after a few year’s they wanted me to pay and also stopped providing voice tech support from real human. I tried the EUFY because I have a EUFY doorbell I’m really happy with but I couldn’t get it to work maybe because of my doorbell. I think you’ll be satisfied if you buy this camera. Believe me since I was able to make it happen and work for me (and my near vision is that hot) anyone who can read and understand this language should be able to accomplish the same.

Incredible value for what it does
Bought two Wyze cameras - this one and the Cam Pan V3. If you don't need the rotate this is a great choice - the streaming quality on this one is higher and it's got a light on it which I found surprisingly useful. The two-way communication is actually pretty awesome - for as small as it is the camera's mic pics up decent audio. I did find that if you're on the monitoring end and want to speak through the camera you should do so slowly and deliberately as it takes a half-second for the speaker on the camera to kick on and broadcast; it cuts you off a little so just make sure you enunciate. Night mode is neat but I never use it. I use this for on-demand monitoring rather than 24/7 security so I had to look up how to disable certain things (motion tracking boxes, automatic light/alarm, etc.) but all were, blessedly, able to be disabled. Other reviews said those settings sometimes mysteriously come back on but I haven't experienced it, but had this operational for only about 20 days now. Having had this installed for over two week I've had none of the problems others spoke about. App is surprisingly functional and stable. I wish there were a "refresh" button in it as I had to close it out and re-open a couple of times to catch up to a live feed, but other than that no big deal. I will say they REALLY like to push notifications, access to your device, and upsell their cloud service. You can always hit no, but the popups are recurrent - I've had several in the ~20 days of use so far, so likely every few days you'll be asked if you're *REALLY* sure you don't want to buy online storage. Cameras haven't disconnected at all. Again, had to restart the app a few times but they were never unavailable to me. Unless I got lucky with these units I'm guessing they ironed out the problems people were having and/or the issues folks experience are because the cameras are on the periphery of WiFi - these do take a lot of data and so a strong, consistent signal is necessary. If you're monitoring these remotely on cell signal, know you'll need a good 5G signal to get an uninterrupted live feed. If you're low on bars or busted down to LTE you'll get some chop, maybe serious chop, depending on how hairy your connection is. These are essentially like streaming Netflix so again strong, consistent data is key if you want a truly live monitor. All in all, for the price, I'm honestly blown away. They have to be making near-zero on the hardware and using cloud subscriptions to subsidize selling the units, which would explain the constant badgering to sign up. But in the end that just means I get a really serviceable entry level camera for the cost of a nice lunch.

Great resolution, easy to install and monitor
I love this camera, as it works exactly how I wanted it to, most of the time. I’ve been feeding feral cats for years on my back porch. It attracted more and more cats and raccoons to the point where it was getting really expensive and the mama and her kittens who were the original feeders, were getting shut out by the presence of bigger bullies and raccoons. I started putting the food in my garage with the door cracked open just enough for them to crawl under and I could safely leave the food in there all night. The raccoons and bully cats still came by, but they assumed they were too big to fit under that little crack, and would look, sniff and walk away…until 1 raccoon decided to try to get in. The first time I saw it on my outdoor security camera with really poor resolution, I was surprised. Shocked even because now my plan has failed. I tried using a wildlife camera inside with motion detection, which showed me when who was coming in to eat, after the fact. There was no way to monitor it live. I read reviews on these Wyze cameras, most were good, complaints were that they are inconsistent in reporting, but I could monitor it live and the price was right. Now that it’s getting darker later, the cats are coming to eat later and the raccoon has brought his brothers and sisters and they’ll come multiple times between dusk and dawn when sometimes the food is there and other times, I haven’t put it out yet. I’ve been relying on the Wyze notifications to know when a “pet” has entered the garage. One problem is that I have found no way to not have it recognize the motion of blowing dust, moths, and loose particles that fly around at night so the notification sound is pretty constant except on calm nights. I haven’t figured out yet, how to be able to get some sleep and know when to jump out of bed and run outside to shoo the raccoons away. The camera shows me exactly what I was wanting to know, now I just have to figure out how to give the cats and not raccoons some food. Not feeding the cats is not an option. And they aren’t tame enough to bring in to eat. The camera works good, I’m going to get another. They have much better resolution than the home security set up that was installed at the house.

Want a Novelty type toy big on hype & disastrous in practical use Wyze is the Camera for you.
Here’s my opinion after over two years of use. I have 17 of the Wyze Cameras. Most are V4’s. The problem is, first when you setup the camera the way it is setup you are pretty much tricked into SUBSCRIBING unless you are extremely careful. I was but still ended up with at least 2 subscriptions. I noticed on the latest setup I believe it Wyze states Refunds are not available. Just be careful setting the camera up. Anyway, the Camera is made a step above pretty okay. The PICTURE quality at 2K is fair at best. Wyze states the Camera quality is based on distance and lighting. These cameras are NOT designed for any kind of real Security System detail when viewing live. License plate Letters are not distinguishable. Here’s the worst part. When using an SD card if you want QUALITY VIEWABLE RECORDINGS your LIVE viewing MUST be set to 320P. When viewing Live at 320P…well let me just say don’t do it. You’re wasting your time. Wait and view it on the SD card…and with that said, refer to paragraph 2 above. And if QUALITY viewing and recording isn’t bad enough here’s 2 BIG issues. First the Cameras just RANDOMLY SHUTDOWN or LOSE the WiFi connection. It takes months for this to show up. Disconnection it from Power resets the camera and it’s good for another few weeks or months. Second, in rain the Cameras tend to FOG up. Very annoying especially since they are in locations that require a ladder if I were inclined to venture out in the weather. Fortunately it will clear up eventually. Just hope you don’t have any kind of Burglary or assault that needed to be recorded. Overall these cameras are more of a in house camera to view pets or activities in your home that don’t require real security just piece of mind when viewing in 2K or at least HD within about 20 to 25 feet. Although IP rated rated for outdoor use Wyze cameras eventually are going to start fogging the lens under certain circumstances when you least expect it…or just shutdown. That is in addition to having to chose between QUALITY VIEWABLE LIVE viewing or QUALITY SD card viewing. You can’t have both. I will say that once the cameras are connected to WiFi the Video quality is not impacted by the distance from your WiFi access point. I have 2 cameras that are over 100 feet away from the AP and aren’t shutting down or losing connections like the ones 20 feet away. If you want the novelty of looking like you have a quality security system with 2 way audio Wyze may be for you. They fall way short of even being considered a Security Camera that Police could obtain anything more than grainy, fuzzy or pixelized type imagery. Also, the Brand, Model and Speed of the Micro SD card you use, and I have tested 9, does NOT matter. You only record what the camera allows. So, I wouldn’t buy these for Recorded Security while hoping to obtain Live feeds when you are away. The cameras are great for watching your pets inside thought, just don’t hope to read that envelope your dog just knocked on the floor. I do NOT recommend and wish I would have known the at least close to a return period. Oh I absolutely REGRET buy the NEW Wyze DUAL camera. If you are going to waste your money like I have on the cameras and specifically the Dual, skip the dual and buy a V3 PTZ and V4. Oh that’s another thing, many of the FEATURES you EXPECT in a camera YOU OWN can only be achieved by signing up to their SUBSCRIPTION service.

Great image. Magnetic mount. Customizable. Compact. User friendly app. Worth it!
Super great product. Compact. Great image. Versatile with several different customization options. Easily adjustable. Works with different mounts. Motion detection works great. Super easy set up. Night vision is clear. Lighting is great. App is user friendly. I know have 3 in my skunk enclosure, and they work so great together! One problem I have is that when you share the device the person you share with has full control -- not like a view only option.

Nice, better than my older one.
I bought this to replace my older one. Working really good. Clear live picture, can zoom in. Has speakers. It can also store live events. Easy to use with the Wyze App.

A Smart Camera That Just Works — Even at -40°C
I’ve been a long-time Wyze user — currently running four cameras, a doorbell with wireless chime, a door lock, and a sprinkler controller. The Wyze Cam v4 (2.5K) is my newest addition, and it continues to prove why this brand has become my go-to for smart home security. Setup is quick and painless. From unboxing to being live on the app takes just minutes. One of the biggest reasons I prefer Wyze is that you don’t need a subscription to use its features. I record locally to an SD card, and it automatically overwrites when full — simple and efficient. Some users mention they couldn’t record without a subscription, but I suspect that’s a misunderstanding. I’ve never had that problem. Connectivity has been excellent. The only time we experience issues is when our internet itself is acting up, not the cameras. In the screen recording I attached, you can see our “Front Door” and “Front Yard” cameras. The v4 loads noticeably faster than the older Wyze models, though the older ones still perform well. (The garbage bin in front of the lens? Courtesy of my kids.) We switched from a Lorex system about five years ago, and the difference was night and day — literally. The colour night vision on the Wyze cameras is incredible compared to the old grayscale, washed-out footage from the Lorex units. When I transitioned away from the Lorex setup, we were even able to reuse the existing 24-volt wiring that was already run through the house. I stepped it down to 5 volts, and it powers the Wyze cameras perfectly. That saved a lot of work and extra cabling. While these cameras are IP-rated, I still recommend installing them out of direct weather. Ours are under the soffits and have survived -40°C winters without a hitch. The Wyze app offers plenty of customization options — remove watermarks, rotate the image 180° for upside-down mounting, record sound, set up automations, and more. It’s well worth exploring all the settings. We don’t have much crime where we live, so the cameras mostly capture funny moments — slips, trips, and the occasional driveway disaster. Still, I’ve shared footage with law enforcement before to help confirm false calls, which shows the value of having reliable recordings. Just make sure to keep your firmware up to date. It’s easy to do through the app and ensures stable performance. Rating: 5/5. Wyze continues to impress — great video quality, quick setup, reliable performance, and no subscription needed. A solid choice for anyone who wants affordable smart security that simply works. TL;DR: The Wyze Cam v4 delivers excellent 2.5K video, local SD recording, reliable connectivity, and colour night vision that blows older Lorex cameras out of the water. We’ve been using Wyze for five years now, powering ours off stepped-down 24-volt wiring — no issues, no subscriptions, just dependable performance year-round.

Wyze Keeps on Getting Better
Much improved clarity compared to previous and the spotlight not only provides light but as it is motion sensitive it acts as a deterrent. Clearly recorded an intruder at 4am and aided in his apprehension.

Excellent picture quality easy to set up great value for money
Great camera, excellent picture quality, works on the UBOX app which is easy to use. The Lebara data sim works very well in this camera and very cheap to run, only need 1GB per month or 3gb if you viewing more frequently (in UK)
