It really adds a nice ambiance to the back area, and has now created another lovely backyard living space that we enjoy. Only thing I wished it had provided: There was no way to hang swag curtains, so I bought white metal poles (Home Depot) and placed them along the sides, so I could drape white flowing bishop sleeve style fabrics- really enhanced the pergola's elegant look. Love the retractable top but unfortunately you do need to pull it back when it rains, so that water won't collect on top of fabric and risk weighting it down if heavy rain, and thus, the furniture that sits underneath is not protected from the rain. Can't have both! But I love it!

I’ve heard nothing but good reviews about purple leaves, so I was super excited. Received the item scratched obviously due to the size of the item. I was not prepared to carry a heavy box and have it shipped back to Amazon. Next did a simple very easily have had it for maybe a year I think and the screws that hold the rods in place for the sliding canopy consistently pop out and they are screwed in tight. I have a professional put this thing together the rods for some reason do not close when you hold the canopy in. There are two brackets at the front of the canopy for the sliders to roll into and it does not stay. The quality of this thing is nothing what I expected. I do regret the purchase and do not plan on buying another purple leaf product. Maybe it was just the unit that I received and others received a fantastic quality item but I’m getting too old to have to pick up heavy things and take it back to the store because of the manufacturers negligence and either packaging or quality testing their product before shipping it out.
