Very good jump rope even for beginners. Very light but you can control the speed very well. The beads are very sturdy. No doubt is a great product for what you pay.

UPDATE: I finally got up the courage to try some release and catch with this rope, and if that is the reason you are thinking about getting this rope, you will be happy to know that it does not hurt too much when the handle smacks you in the face. I have been jump roping for a long time, and I got the Elite Jumps Freestyle Beaded Jump Rope because it was recommended that beaded jump ropes are best for release moves. The handles have a comfortable grip, the beads look very sturdy, and they are threaded through a nylon cord. I have not had the courage to try the release moves yet, but for normal jump roping, this beaded jump rope works fine. It gives noticeable feedback for beginners. It isn't ideal for really fast jumping or double unders IMHO, but a skilled jump roper can work with any kind of rope. What I did not care for is how one adjusts the rope length, which is simply by trimming the cord to the desired length, removing the extra beads, and then tying off the cord with a knot. Because the handles are long, there is always some unbeaded rope, and it's more bare rope than what I would have preferred.

This is a very light weight jump rope that can be used on concrete without as much fear of the damaging the rope. After a few uses on the concrete, there's definitely some damage (dents) in the red beads (expected), but there's no damage the the rope (win!). Since the rope has beads, the weight distribution is different than a typical jump rope. It's not bad, it's just different and requires some getting used to. This is no different than using a different kind of jump rope, I'm just pointing it out that to be wary. The rope spins much better than some of the other jump ropes with the plastic-like rope without the ball bearings (speed ropes). It's noticeably less smooth than speed ropes (ones with ball bearings).

Reminiscent of the durable playground jump ropes from my childhood, the Elite Jumps Beaded Jump rope is a great addition to my workout routine. The jump rope is lightweight and yet easy to use. The handles are padded and comfortable to hold. It is a great length for a single jumper. The price is reasonable for the quality.
