Soloray is a brand of supplements that I trust and this particular product is a good balance of calcium, magnesium, and zinc. Calcium is necessary to maintain healthy bones and teeth as well as benefiting nerves and muscles. Magnesium helps the calcium do its job and participates in numerous enzymatic reactions in the body and is intended to provide nutritive support for normal, healthy heart, muscle, nerve and circulatory function. Zinc is involved in over 100 enzymatic reactions in the body, plays an important role in immune system function and is vital for the normal structure of cell membranes.I began using this product several years ago on the advice of a nutritionist. I was already taking a calcium supplement in order to maintain good bone density; but this nutritionist recommended that I take a magnesium supplement along with holy basil 30-45 minutes before bedtime to help with my sleep. I had been taking Ambien nightly for nearly 9 years. I'd tried off-and-on for a number of years to wean myself off the Ambien and tried substituting a variety of natural sleep aids (melatonin, herbal mixes, behavior modification, you name it). Nothing helped my insomnia. Then I took her advice and added the magnesium to my supplement regimen. For the first time in years, I was able to gradually drift off to sleep. When I added the holy basil, sleep came even easier and my sleep patterns seemed more regulated. I'd been buying this at a health store; but the price on Amazon is much better.

I’ve long had issues with constipation, where my poop would form in sticky dots that would back up and be difficult to push out. My initial attempt to use magnesium (a magnesium glycinate product) to generate regularity didn’t fix the problem. So I looked for a magnesium oxide product, because magnesium oxide is less absorbed than magnesium glycinate, but what isn’t absorbed instead goes right to the poop.I chose this Solaray product to simultaneously replace a calcium product that has artificial colors in it. I usually take two a day, with a meal, then take four of a separate calcium-zinc-magnesium product (Doctors Best Calcium Bone Maker) with another meal. I also take my usual magnesium glycinate product.It took three weeks to begin noticing changes in my poop. About five weeks in, my frequency of poop hasn’t changed from before starting this oxide product, but the texture has significantly softened and congealed. No more dots!It would be nice if this product had a representative amount of copper, Vitamin D + K2 MK7, and perhaps other stuff from the Doctors Best. If it did, I’d probably only purchase this Solaray product, mainly because Doctors Best was purchased by a Chinese company, and I’d rather keep profits, here in the USA.I haven’t noticed any negative health effects from these tablets.
