2026 Windshield Sun Shade Umbrella [Vinyl Coating Heat Shield]

TLDR: worth it. Long version if you’re like me, and prefer reading genuine/detailed reviews: I originally bought one of these in July 2025 for my older, niche sport model, Subaru Impreza, and I’ve been using it pretty much constantly ever since. (I believe I got the medium which fit perfectly.) Living in Texas, a windshield sun shade is basically a necessity unless you want to get into an oven at the end of the day. I hate the big collapsible foam ones that you have to fight with, and I’ve never had the patience for the twist-and-fold styles either. (Yes, both of those types of sunshades are rotting in my garage somewhere, from trying them in the past.) I’m always in a rush, and wanted something I could throw up quickly, take down just as quickly, but that still actually covered the windshield and helped with the heat. This ended up being exactly that. There is a little bit of a learning curve the first couple times just figuring out how it sits best in your specific car, but after that it takes me seconds. I slide it onto the dash, open the umbrella, loop the Velcro around my rearview mirror, and flip my visors down over the top. Done. When I’m leaving, I flip the visors back up, undo the Velcro, collapse it and literally chuck it onto my passenger seat, where it permanently lives lol. It gives really good coverage, and there is absolutely a noticeable difference in temperature. I’d say my car is easily 10–15 degrees cooler than it would be without it, which matters a LOT here in Texas. And considering I’ve had my original one for over a year now and use it all the time with zero issues, I feel pretty confident saying it holds up well too. The reason I’m finally writing a review though is because I recently bought another one for our VW Jetta. Our Jetta is also one of the less common sport models, and the dash/windshield situation is honestly just weird. I looked up the dimensions, ordered what I thought was the right size, and when it showed up it was unfortunately too big. Nothing was wrong with the sun shade at all, it was in perfect condition, it just didn’t fit this particular car. I figured, okay, annoying, I’ll return it, have to order another one and hopefully find the size that works.. I started the return process when Amazon gave me the option to contact Nmoiss customer service directly first, and I honestly almost didn’t. I assumed it was just going to add extra steps to something I could handle through Amazon myself. But figured I’d give it a shot, maybe it could help fast track finding the right fit, and it ended up being worth it. I explained what happened and they responded extremely quickly. And what impressed me was that there was none of the usual back and forth, where customer service asks you a million questions or seems like they’re trying to find a reason the problem is somehow your fault. BUT, it was actually a human, not an automated system response. (These days, that alone felt impressive) They were just immediately nice and wanted to fix it. They asked for the exact make/model of the car and my shipping information and told me they would look up the manufacturer dimensions themselves to figure out which one I actually needed. No work had to be done by me whatsoever. And then they just… sent it to me. Free of charge, no issues, no pressure. They even sent me a picture of the shipping information to show me it was already on the way, which they absolutely didn’t have to do. But made the interaction feel genuine, and I really appreciated it. It showed up within a few days, I put it in the VW, and sure enough it fit. They even followed up with me afterward too, just to make sure the replacement worked and that I was happy with everything. I work in retail, and know that customer service that feels genuine goes a long way, but is hard to come by these days; so I was genuinely surprised by how easy they made the entire thing. I was actually so happy with how they handled it that I didn’t even end up returning the larger one I originally bought. One of my friends/coworkers had been needing a sun shade and it fit her vehicle, so I just gave it to her instead. A few of my coworkers saw it too and were asking about it, and I had no hesitation recommending it because I’ve already been using my own for over a year. Another nice detail of this one, it also looks the cleanest from the outside, when compared to other cars parked around you who use other types of shades. I almost never write Amazon reviews, especially long ones lol, but I felt like this one was actually worth taking the time to write. The product itself does exactly what I wanted it to do: good coverage, noticeably less heat, easy to put up, easy to take down, easy to store, and mine has held up to over a year of regular use. And now I also know that if there IS an issue, there are apparently actual humans behind the company who care enough to help fix it. So yes, definitely recommend, especially if you live somewhere ridiculously hot like Texas and, like me, have absolutely no desire to wrestle with a giant folding sun shade every time you park your car.

I absolutely love this sun shade. I’ve been driving for 20 years and I’ve tried many other window sun visor type products. With this one it’s compact and I don’t have to play origami to get it to fold up into a storable size. This thing is exactly as it labels, a window umbrella. Does great job. Easy to put up, easy to put down and when it’s down. It’s just like an umbrella, all collapsed and easy to store. I did have the button on my first one pop off and kept coming off which made it hard to get it to collapse and retract, but I reached out to their customer service dept and they honored their warranty, no questions asked. Seriously, if you’re here for a sun visor, this is where your shopping journey ends. I do not believe you will be disappointed. And have confidence this is a company who will stand behind their product.

4/5 Stars I’ve been using this sunshade almost every day from May through July in humid Louisiana with my 2017 Toyota Tacoma, parking in the same location. I even tracked interior temperatures, and on average it lowered the cabin temperature by about 6°F compared to not using a shade. That’s not a miracle, but it’s a noticeable improvement. For me, though, the biggest benefit isn’t keeping the truck cool. It’s protecting the dashboard and interior from constant UV exposure. Even if the cabin still gets hot, blocking direct sunlight from baking the dash every day is worth it. The umbrella design is also much more convenient than folding up one of those traditional accordion shades. I actually use this because it’s quick to open and close. Build quality is decent, but it’s definitely on the flimsy side. I could see it breaking if you twisted it the wrong way while opening or closing it. That said, I’ve had no issues so far. I’ve honestly been too lazy to use the retaining strap and usually just toss it on the seat, and it’s held up fine. Is it the best sunshade on the market? Probably not. But it’s convenient enough that I use it every day, and I’d much rather deal with this than wrestle with a folding tent-style shade. For the price, I’m satisfied with the purchase.

I purchased this Nmoiss windshield sun shade specifically for my 2025 Honda HR-V, and the 56” x 31” medium size is a good fit for my vehicle. I’ve used traditional folding windshield shades before, but I really like the umbrella design of this one. It opens quickly, fits into the windshield without a lot of adjusting, and is much easier to put away than the larger folding styles. The shade provides good coverage and does a noticeable job blocking the direct sunlight. After the HR-V has been sitting in the sun, the interior feels more comfortable than it does without a shade, and the steering wheel and dashboard aren’t nearly as hot. The biggest advantage for me is the convenience. It takes just a few seconds to open and position, and it folds down compactly when I’m finished. I can easily keep it in the vehicle without it taking up much space. The material and spring-style frame feel sturdy, while still having enough flexibility to fit the windshield. The included Velcro strap is also helpful for keeping it neatly closed when stored. I would recommend measuring your windshield first since the fit will vary between vehicles. Overall, I’m very pleased with the combination of fit, heat protection, and especially the convenience of the umbrella design.

The first one I ordered the mechanism didn't work and wouldn't release the spring for the shade to pop out. However, i returned the first one and received a new one the next day. It works perfectly and fits well into my vehicle. Would recommmend as it has kept my vehicle much cooler as of late.

It’s not a bad product, I just expected something a bit more sturdy I guess rather than how flimsy this thing is. At first I was worried because I thought the flexible part was a spring, but it’s not. It’s like a flexible hose that holds its shape, not a spring. I’m not a huge fan of that system, but it is better than a spring. I’m not sure why an adjustable one that tightens down can’t be the solution rather than a flexible rod that risks damage to the vehicle. I like the umbrella like opening, but the shade itself is so thin that it’s difficult for it to hold itself up. Light doesn’t really come through the material, but even though this is the correct size for my windshield, it still has areas where the light comes through like around the rearview mirror. If you want it to be all the way flat you’ll have to stick your hand all the way to the backside of your dashboard in order to flatten it down. It does appear to have kept the car a little bit cooler, and it does protect from the light damaging the dashboard overtime, but there are obviously some areas that can still be improved. I would like to see a stand system that uses a stand that adjusts and tightens while still keeping the telescoping umbrella like feature. I also think that some kind of underwire system could be used around the edges of the shade itself that would provide some kind of support system to the areas of the fabric that are not supported. This would prevent those sections from folding up or falling. Last, I would like to see more Velcro around the opening for the rearview mirror. This would prevent any gaps in that area from letting light through.

Very sturdy and reliable sunshade blocks out all of the sun and keeps your car cooler. Their customer service is nothing but outstanding. I had originally placed an order for this for a car that I previously owned and then ended up buying a new car and this shade no longer fit. They offered to replace it for me at no charge and sent me a whole new shade for a different car they have been very great about communication and even asked me to review future products. I don’t think I’ve ever seen as great of customer service from my product on Amazon! Highly recommend!

Easy to use, it's compact and good quality. A little tricky getting all of the umbella to fold away neatly after use, takes a bit of time.
