Good Quality, great value.
This was reasonably priced for a biometric (fingerprint) lock. The installation was, without doubt, the easiest door knob/lock mechanism I've ever installed. Setting up the lock was very easy also. Again, the easiest setup of a fingerprint door lock I've ever had. So far during testing it has performed exceptionally well. It hasn't not read my fingerprint yet. I've had a less than stellar experience previously with biometric locks but this one has really out performed anything I've had in the past in price, performance, and ease of installation and setup. I am using it on an exterior door protected from the elements under a 6ft porch and a storm door. I'm happy to have found this product and will update if necessary after some use.

Defective metal hardware, missing USB charger
I’ve purchased two of these handles for interior doors. The first was easy to install and works perfectly so I ordered a second handle for a different interior bedroom door. The inner square-shaped bolt on the second handle was poorly casted and would not fit through the slot, so I had to buy a small metal file to file the edges so that it could be installed. After installing, I also noticed that the micro USB slot was completely missing on the inside handle. The hole is there on both sides, just like my other handle, but one side is empty and only has the hardware on the outside of the door to recharge it, which is very inconvenient for me. The first handle I received can be charged on either side. Also, the beeps are REALLY loud compared to the first handle I purchased, which is very annoying as it’s in a bedroom hallway and can be heard in the other bedrooms every time I open it. I would’ve sent it back as a defective item, but by the time the holidays were over and I had the time to install it, I was way past the return window. If my second handle worked as well as the first, I’d have given 5 stars, but the second item is clearly defective. I’m very disappointed in the second handle that I received, so unless it can be replaced or I can get refunded, I’m only giving 2 stars at this time. I was considering buying a 3rd & 4th handle for the basement/rec room doors, but now I will look for a different brand of lock because of the hassle I had with the last one. ***EDIT: I’d had these door handles installed for less than a year with very little issues. Then, on the SAME EVENING, both handles gave a series of beeps and stopped working. I thought both the batteries had died but they wouldn’t recharge after 5-6 hrs of using a long usb to a wall outlet and a number of portable power banks. I was locked out of my bedroom the entire time until I managed to pop the lock with a credit card and finally break in at around 4am. My poor cat was locked inside my bedroom for hours because I couldn’t get the door to open. After I uninstalled both of these door handles, they continued to randomly beep a series of beeps now and then but neither of them would re-charge or read any fingerprints! I don’t know what happened to them or why they both decided to break in the exact same way within about an hour of eachother. Needless to say, I will not be re-installing these handles not purchasing replacements of this brand because they are clearly defective. I am also lowering my rating to 1 star because these are junk and useless to me now.

Beautiful, simplistic and modern fingerprint door lock!!
Bought this lock after reading about other customers' positive reviews. I installed it within 5 minutes, and that's including removing my old manual lock, and installing this lock! It looks simple, modern and elegant! I love the simplicity of the lock! It was the easiest door lock installation I've ever had to do. However, after I programmed my fingerprint, I was NOT able to program my family members' fingerprints. I tried a dozen times. I had them read the manual, and tried it again and again, but it just wouldn't program anyone else's fingerprint. I contacted the seller, and he tried to email me back a couple of times with additional instructions. It still wouldn't program anyone else's fingerprint! The seller immediately sent me a replacement, and this time it worked like a charm. I was able to immediately program all of my family members' fingerprints! I'm ecstatic. I just love the way this lock looks! I love the simplicity of it! I love that I don't have to worry about keys, and I love that I don't have to remember yet another passcode....I also love that if it runs out of battery, I can use a power bank and charge it! SO I never have to worry that I don't have replacement batteries if it dies! Thank you, Harflo, for your prompt reply and resolution! I'm so so so pleased and satisfied with this purchase!

Good product!
It works well. I've been using it for couple of months now. Instructions for adding fingerprint could be improved. It took sometime to understand the logic behind adding fingerprints. Occasionally, errors out for the correct finger print (false negative) but opens up in the subsequent read. It has never had a false positive (opening for wrong fingerprint), which is a good thing.

Simple interior fingerprint lock
-- UPDATE -- Stopped working after 5mo. and when I attempt to charge it a red LED lights up. I've tried like 4 different chargers and 2 different USB cables. The unit just seems DEAD. Customer Service e-mail address is @hotmail.com -- no response from reseller (big surprise there) I bought this, like others, to secure the parent's room door from children. It doesn't need to be the world's most secure door - just a deterrent from casual nosy-ness and opportunity. Overall, it does what its supposed to do. Not very secure, but enough to get the job done. -- PROS -- + It provides piece of mind knowing that the door to my room is basically locked at all times + It relocks VERY quickly - within like 2 seconds. Before you have time to step thru the door - it has already relocked. + Fingerprints are recognized usually within a few miliseconds to 1 sec. Faster than you can say "Open, please!" + Keeps 3yr. old from wandering into room and getting ahold of medicine or makeup, etc. + If someone attempts to repeatedly trick the sensor (failed log in attempts)- it will set off a mini audible alarm (a series of rapid beeps) They aren't super loud (thank goodness) but DO get your attention. It is nice that it has a little alarm feature built into it. -- UPDATE 2 -- Stopped working after only 5mo but I contacted the reseller via Amazon and they were very nice and sent me a replacement free of charge. The 2nd unit is a lot quieter - both the beep as well as the motor. So that tells me that their was a dedect in the 1st intial unit, because itbwas sop loud. -- CONS -- - All finger prints can be wiped out and reset to default from the OUTSIDE using a paperclip and if you know where the reset hole is. This is a HUGE security flaw. Luckily the matte black finish somewhat conceals the hole, making it harder to locate and less obvious. - There is really no way to quietly latch the door if you are not trying to wake your spouse. You can't turn the door knob, then close the door, and then slowly release the door knob to keep from making an audible latching sound. - wet hands will throw off the fingerprint reader - which I guess is probably true for most fingerprint sensors. - Instructions are unclear if you are to make 3 different samples of a new fingerprint OR place your finger in the same spot and take 3 samples of the finger in the exact same position. - ANSWER: 3 in same position - There is a lot of beeping and use of the single blinking LED to unlock and program new fingers. It is hard to tell if you've gone into program mode and if a finger was enrolled. My list of cons may be long - but these are all just preferences of mine and some are deliberate design choices by the manufacturer. Again - this device should NOT be placed on an exterior door or anything super secure like your gun room. - I'd say it is for LOW security interior doors where you just want to eliminate nosy co-workers or family members. I'm contemplating putting one on my daughters room door - because her brother and little sister tend to just open her door unexpectedly and start talking to her when she could be changing clothes.

lackluster fingerprint reader
great product would recommend for a door with infrequent use, the fingerprint is nothing like one you would see on a smartphone. quite inaccurate but absolutely gets the job done. the beeping and locking mechanism noise isnt the greatest but its very tolerable. Extremely easy install, would recommend.

EASY Peasy!
I love this door handle. It was easy to install and it is super secure, providing access to my room to only me and those to whom I’ve given access. Adding new users is fairly easy too, though if you want to remove any individual’s finger print, you would have to erase all and start over. For my use, that’s not enough to dock the handle any stars. It is also ADA compliant, so you cannot lock it from the inside. And the outside handle moves up and down when it’s locked, so someone can’t break into the room just by forcing all of their weight on the handle to break the lock. This is an excellent device and I really wish I had gotten it sooner...no more locking myself out!

This is an astonishing excuse for a lock
I don't think anyone thought that this was going to be used to secure Fort Knox or anything, but it truly is astonishing how terrible this lock is constructed. First, the lock will function for a bit, but even with minimal use, it will just suddenly stop working. Mine got stuck in the unlocked position. Depending on your situation this is either convenient or dangerous. What if this door was securing chemicals and a toddler suddenly could open the door and get inside? Funnily enough though, if you apply a few drops of lock lube to the thing it goes from being stuck open to stuck locked. Since there's no key bypass one might think that one has no choice but to break a door a la James Bond. Luckily, and this is the most amazing part, it turns out all of the locking components are stored on the unsecure side of the door, and can all be revealed just by peeling off the plastic that was glued there. That's right, this is a lock that's secured with glue. Underneath the glue there are a few screws, but once you get past that everything is there. Just poke a little toothpick into the plunger thing and you're in. The point I want to make is that you need to ask yourself what you need this lock for. A lot of people might put this in at their rental to keep unscrupulous people out of their bedrooms. But is it really too hard to imagine a shady person having a screwdriver and toothpick? The danger is not that the can break in. Any lock can be broken fairly easily. It's that they can surreptitiously come into your bedroom, snoop around, and leave without you ever knowing they were ever there. In nearly any situation, this lock fails to be appropriate for the task. I can only see this as a child's toy, and a rather expensive one at that.
