All the Basics none of the BS
My use case is a bit different than the average buyer of this product. I had a previous Viper alarm, a 500PC that had served me well for nearly 20 years. Sadly, the alarm brain finally failed leaving me without an alarm for some time. I did some research and having a background in electronics I was able to find that this alarm was pin compatible right down to the primary harness connector with my existing ( and very complex ) existing harness from the preivous Viper 500PC. As such I was able to install this as almost a plug and play operation with the only real difference being the integrated valet switch/LED status light module which I had to make accommodation for. As for the alarm itself it's good value for the price and definitely a must-have if you're interested in basic alarm functions. This is especially true if you're not looking for features common today like remote-start, smartphone integration and the like. It can handle 5 zones and in my scenario I have 3 external shock sensors and 1 proximity sensor to keep curious hands out of my car's open windows on a warm day. It's a simple hookup and it does offer parking light flash, starter interrupt and voltage sensing (dome light monitor). You can integrate it with power door locks but my classic car doesn't have them. In short this is an excellent "starter" alarm with features you wouldn't expect for the price. Unlike many alarms that require deep integration with a factory harness this one like the 500PC it replaced requires very little splicing into the existing harness. In my case the entire system is more of an overlay than an integration making it easily removable without concern for damage to my factory harness. If what you're after is the basics without the extra BS this is your alarm...period.

Easy to install, and works like a charm
Well I'm saying easy to install because I could do it. I'm currently 20 years old and this is the first alarm I've ever installed. Before I installed this alarm I had a little bit of experience with wiring (I installed the amp and sub that are in my car). But this alarm is a very simple install. I put this is my 1996 Honda Civic Ex. I tried to utilize most of the features. The only feature that i did not use was the automatic trunk open because i needed to buy something else to do that. But this install took me and my buddy about a day to do. It comes with a guide that tells you what wires need to go were and we looked online to see the locations of the wires. The only problem with this alarm is that the sensor it comes with mainly just blinks, it's not very sensative, but it was a cheap alarm. The price seemed a little low but i took the risk and i'm glad I did. Works like an alarm should, goes off when it should and beeps when i unlock and lock. However, there are ways to change that. It's been in my car for a good while now and I have yet to run into any problems. Just make sure when you install it the alarm is in a location where it doesn't move too much because that would cause the siren to go off. But to sum things up. Great alarm, great price, if i buy another Honda i will definitely get this same alarm.

Perfect alarm for my old car
I ordered this Viper Alarm yesterday and received it overnight. I had to remove my old DEI alarm that has probably been on the car for over 20 years due to upgrading my ignition to modern technology. Luckily for me, I was able to replace the old with this newer alarm and everything works as it should. Easy installation once I got my wire diagram for my DC2 Integra. It’s pretty universal so if you have some experience with wiring and electronics, it shouldn’t be too difficult. I’d buy this again for another car if needed.

Best bang for the money
This system is really good, and to install is straight forward ( if you are mechanically incline ( I'm an auto tech) For those that need an extra hand visit [...] there you can find all of the wire diagram for you cars. I like the siren is not to loud yet not to passive, and also give you some option of what tones you wanted. The settings of the system also easy, is in the users manual. This system comes with the relay for the start kill mechanism in the alarm, also it has room for installing attachment components, like power doors locks ( if your car does not has them) and trunk release system. The antenna is nice as it comes with LED light in it, ( older system have to drill a hole to install the LED light) and to program the system also is done through there antenna button. Over all I like this system and for the price I got it I really can't complaint. Viper system is a really reputable company in the security system, that being said if you got one of this system I highly recommend that if you don't know what you are doing, don't try to be "the Mechanic" when you are not. Do yourself a favor and call or go to a shop that specialize in this equipment's and if you don't and something goes wrong don't blame the system.

Positive result from extensive research
I researched for months before i made my purchase. I read a lot of reviews that said "the instructions were not included", however, that was not the case with my purchase. everything was included; instructions, two Viper window decals and all. Already having the schematic for my vehicle wiring it took a minute to figure everything out. being a well-educated electrician it still took me some time to install the alarm. It took me a total of 8 hours to install the alarm on my truck. After a week everything is working as it should except for one thing. The shock sensor sensitivity is turned all the way up, however, you really have to jerk hard on the vehicle for the alarm to go off.you will have to purchase an extra sensor for the vehicle. The range is excellent I can arm and disarm my vehicle from a long ways away. Another Plus is the siren is waterproof. I have the siren mounted underneath my vehicle instead of the hood compartment. I recently went down a road that was floodedand the siren was underneath the water completely. after having to remove the siren to empty out the water, it still worked !!!!! I am extremely happy with that. I also read a lot of reviews about the key fob being cheaply made. you do have to press the button with a bit of force, but it's okay with me. I have dropped it at least 3 to 4 times and has stayed together and worked !! overall, I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend this product. Just be sure you have the wiring schematic for your vehicle and know how a simple relay works and you can install it yourself !!!! The only reason for four stars is because of the shock sensor. Product is as advertised.
Product is as advertised, brand new in DEI packaging, they sent me the lastest model V3108. Installed and working. Replaced a DEI Python 460HP that was 25 years old. The wiring was the same, so it basically was 'plug-n-play' with some minor adjustments to the shock sensor, and replaced the siren of course.

Didn’t help with breaking for such a sensitive alarm.
I had this alarm for five years and it’s been a disappointment. At first I thought it was too sensitive since the car alarm will go off if someone with a loud vibrating muffler passes by the car while it’s armed, but when my car got broken into the first time I noticed that I or any other person in the parking lot didn’t hear anything. I thought maybe we just missed it or maybe I just couldn’t hear it since I was in a building. The second time it got broken into all the people who were there said they heard absolutely nothing. The alarm is also super loud so there’s no way no one heard it. I don’t know if it was the mechanics, who say they know what they're doing with viper alarms, or just the alarm in general. All I can say is that this alarm has been nothing but a headache, and when I needed it to do what it says it will do the most, it failed to do anything.

Simple, Well-Made and Performs Flawlessly
Bought this to replace a Crimestopper unit that failed after about 6 mos. First thing I noticed was how well the remote was engineered and made, much like a factory unit and far and away, better than its predecessor. Installation and setup went quickly on my '69 Mustang and the instructions/illustrations should be easy for even a first-time installer to follow. Range on the remote is better than my Ford Explorer or daughter's Nissan Murano and current draw on the in-car unit appears minimal. Outstanding value which should give lasting service in all applications.

works out moor exspensive than just the price of the alarm
good alarm but be careful. It must be installed by a car electrician as you need to add relays which do not come with the alarm. most of the other parts are extra add ons window control/ central door locks/etc

All in all a great product.
Just finished installing this myself. The alarm has many more features than I thought. Mine came with the immobilizer circuit, even though the instructions said that it would need to be purchased separately. It also came with the LED as part of the antenna. This unit locks when the ignition is turned on and unlocks when the ignition is turned off. A nice feature I wasn't expecting. Couple criticisms is that the instructions with Viper alarms are terrible. They give you a piece of paper that says what wires should connect, and that is it. If you search the web for "tech sheets" for your car it's much easier than finding the right wires through your vehicle's wiring diagram. Lastly, the antenna needs to be connected and visible for the alarm to work. All in all a great product.

Good Value Alarm
Installed in a 76 Dodge b200 campervan, while I was in there I tossed in some door lock actuators and door switches. Its quite a nice upgrade on the old girl. The alarm is very loud. The remote range seems excellent. It's pretty nice to have the interior lights come on when you unlock the doors. All in all very happy with the unit!
