A simple thing built for a simple but crucial job
Some folks ‘seem’ to give no thought at all towards grounding their guitar circuits. For the life of me I can’t figure out how they can get away with it, because even with the MOST careful circuit I can construct, if I don’t ground everything cleanly & solidly - the noise is inescapable. This makes I think my 7th or 8th build using this Axegrinderz shielding/ground kit. There are alternatives out there. However there’s a lot of outright junk out there too. For the price as well as my positive experience with these, I’ll never use anything different. Perhaps I might build my own if need be but I’ll never buy someone else’s ‘kit’. Simple parts: a length of fairly nice quality 22ga insulated ground wire, a standard two-hole solder lug & screw. It actually IS the “generic equivalent” & therefore it’s in the parts list documentation for many Fender MiM guitars. If I’m honest, it’s pretty straightforward to install, and unless you’re just not paying any attention to what it is that you’re doing, it’s pretty difficult to screw this up.

Just what I needed
I added this lug in my guitar electronics cavity and ran a ground from my bridge plate to this to connect it to the cavity shielding. adding the extra grounding silenced some ground noise I was hearing in my guitar.

Too pricey
Good enough. Too pricey for what it is

Single coil guitar grounding
Easy to use, solder one end to back of potentiometer and attach screw to a pre-shielded pickup cavity. This method has been working great to minimize some of the 60 cycle hum inherent with the Single coil pickups.
