Bottle Gourd Seeds for Planting - Calabash Birdhouse Variety (1 Pack)

They sprouted so well! Here I thought the Annie's brand ones weren't sprouting because of my methods and cool weather. Nope. These are just quality seeds. I still trimmed the seed tips with a nail trimmer, soaked them in water for 12 hours, and then put them in a damp paper towel covered by a damp wash cloth. Took a little less than a week to sprout. I do have a small greenhouse I'm growing one in and it's doing fantastic so far. Will update when it starts making gourds 🤞

I’m amazed! ALL of the seeds sprouted! Too soon for gourds but I’m excitedly waiting! They look to be strong vines. I have so many birds around I’m looking forward to decorating the gourds for bird houses! I’d say it’s a great value for the money!

These guys are taking off and looking strong! I’ve bought from this company before and produced some nice sized gourds. I’m looking forward to this years crop.

It's been 2 weeks but nothing is sprouting yet. Followed instruction and put in pots on 1July. I'll try other batch today.

These sprouted quickly and arrived quickly. Sadly they died almost immediately after sprouting to my surprise and disappointment :(

I read a book about growing gourds from seeds, and I snipped off the “ears” with a nail clipper, and soaked them overnight. I then planted them with seed starter mix in a tray with small compartments but then when I tried to remove them, some seedlings broke. So, I planted a few more seeds in peat pots, which I can plant directly in the ground once they grow 4 leaves. The seedlings grew so long that they were flopping over so I bought aluminum wire on Amazon and made stands that looked like lollipops so the circle at the top could hold them up. I also bought a grow light, not really necessary, though out of all the different kinds of seeds I planted, the gourd seeds are doing the best. Keep in mind that there will always be a few that don’t germinate but that’s life…and one thriving plant will take up a lot of room and proliferate.

I planted 4 seeds and all 4 grew. 2 of them are 5 to 7 feet and have blossoms.

I planted these over the spring and oh my goodness these are amazing!! At first i didn’t think they would take off but they did! The gourds are huge!!! I get tickled everyday I go out to look at them and to see how many I have and how big they are getting.
