I’ve now gone through two of these tests for two sections of our 90-year-old house, where I found two different types of “blow-in” insulation (the oldest layer I think was more likely shoveled in). Each time, the collection was made easier with their instructions, including packing it up. The results came back quicker than I’ve seen on any other company’s test kits (and I’ve used a variety over the past five years), and I appreciated that so very much because of the repair schedule we suddenly had to work with.

I ordered this to prepare for having my older house re-sided and it confirmed that my siding does have asbestos. That having been said, I'm not one to pull out my blame-thrower and start shooting messengers with it. This kit has clear instructions and includes everything needed to safely collect samples and mail them to the lab. The price was fantastic and the test results came back very quickly (about a week). I received an email with the results in an attached PDF file. If you're looking for an inexpensive, clear, and fast way to test for asbestos then this is the way to go.

It’s been over two weeks, and I still haven’t received my results. Unfortunately, there’s no clear tracking or audit trail, so I have no way to confirm whether my sample was received or processed. I followed all instructions very carefully, especially after reading other reviews. The lack of communication and accountability is concerning. Based on my experience, I would recommend considering alternative testing options. At a minimum, a refund seems appropriate. I will update this review if I eventually receive my results. However, even if they do arrive, the service clearly did not meet the advertised 2–3 day turnaround time.

I’m not sure why it says it’s frequently returned. This product and company were so easy to work with. I followed the directions on the package to collect the popcorn ceiling pieces in our house and mailed it in. I was super impatient so I called several times to make sure they got my package and again for results. They were so nice on the phone and let me know right away my results again this was over the phone because I was ready to get to work. They then sent me paperwork to show it was tested which is great when we ever sell the house in the future. If we ever need to test for asbestos again I will 100% go back to the same company. Sorry I did t record the process but it’s so easy. If the company ever wants to send me another box I can record it. I’m still working on my ceilings at present.

I am very happy with my purchase. I bought my SEEML labs asbestos testing kick to check the popcorn on my living room ceiling. I plan on removing it. I got my box, read the instructions and mailed my sample out. In just a few days they emailed me my results. I was really happy with their quick response. I'm glad I purchased this kit. 5 Stars!!!!

I added multiple samples, and it's fantastic they allow that. I had enough that I had to send in a USPS flat rate box, so +$10, but at $15 for each additional sample that's still very inexpensive. Box arrived on a Friday and I got results early Monday. Results were easy to understand and they even split samples, like testing wall texture separate from drywall (which didn't even count as separate samples for billing purposes). On the actual testing and shipping experience it couldn't be better. The only issue is to submit multiple samples you need to write town your CC # etc and ship it. That's not secure and opens you up to issues due to USPS, people at the lab, and potentially someone snooping the garbage. This gave me pause when I had to send but the risk felt relatively low. It's probably coincidence, but my CC got over $2,000 in unauthorized charges the same day my samples arrive. Obviously the CC is handling it and it could be totally unrelated so I'm just giving minus a star for the insecure handling of payments itself.

The test kit came with clear instructions on how to collect the sample. The kit had a bag for one sample, but you can include additional; I included a second sample from a different source and used a plastic snack bag to seal it. Additional tests do cost $15, which can be paid with a check/money order or by filling out an included credit card authorization form (I included a check because I was uncomfortable sending credit card information through the mail). You do have to pay for shipping (that cost me about $16 with UPS). The kit says 2-3 day results, but they are exceptionally fast. I had my results within 24 hours of the package delivery. One of my samples tested positive (as I expected), but the other was thankfully negative. All in all, this test kit was inexpensively priced, and I appreciated being able to send it directly to the lab. Many other test kit options use third parties. This lab also analyzed different components of one sample, confirming that both the ceiling tile and mastic were asbestos free, without a separate test fee. Very satisfied, and would definitely use again if I need another test!
