Ok when it worked and now keyboard doesn’t work. Was on phone with HP support for almost 2 hours and they couldn’t get it to work and has possible internal issues

DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP. I depend on customer reviews so I carefully researched laptops before ordering. I had this laptop for one week and noticed that the power cord box got very hot. Also, the bottom of the laptop would get unusually warm. One day I left the charger plugged in with the laptop closed. When I opened it, the power would not come on. I unplugged it, kept trying and it eventually came on once cool. I called HP for support and after telling them I had 16 GB RAM, they looked at the upgrades made by the seller and VOIDED MY WARRANTY! Here's the quote from the transcript: "The computer was originally manufactured with hardware that matched the requirement of this computer, however when I see your computer specifications now, it looks like it has been upgraded by seller beyond its holding capacity and unfortunately this has voided the manufacturing warranty on this computer and due to that we will not be able to provide any support from our end. There is a good chance that the problem that you are facing now could be possible because of these changes made." So now I have to wipe the computer and return it with the prepaid label they are sending. Amazon is refunding the extra protection policy I purchased. In addition, HP stated that I had 336 days left on my warranty even though I only had the computer for 7 days. Evidently, the seller must purchase them to upgrade and then resells them - creating the gap in the time expired from warranty duration. One more tip, HP agent said I could get a copy of the transcript after I close the chat... but don't close it yet, there's another button to push for transcript first before closing the chat. This has been a totally frustrating experience and the seller should not upgrade unless more RAM is purchased. BUYER BEWARE! UPDATE: Returned laptop and got a notice about the refund and was glad until I saw the amount was over $130 LESS than what I paid. After contacting Amazon, they said the seller charged a restocking fee! I explained the entire situation and they reached out to the seller. The seller's reply: "In accordance with Amazon policies, we typically charge a restocking fee for used items or those damaged by customers. After reviewing your return reason, we have decided to trust your explanation and issue a full refund." The refund is labeled "Goodwill Refund". It is still about $8. short. I'm tired of fighting this battle. Where is the accountability for creating this problem? I have since purchased a new laptop through Microcenter and have purchased their Priority Plus plan which is worth its weight in gold. I can call up at anytime and they will remotely address any issues on my laptop.

Great laptop so far but keyboard arrangement is a little off putting. I love the functionality and ability of the laptop. It was a good mid range purchase. The only thing I would say is that if you are picky about your keyboard arrangment, try one first. The number pad on the right pushes everything to the left, the your keyboard letters are off-center. This leads to your palm being on the track pad while typing and it sometimes re-locates the cursor mid-typing. I feel like I need to sit to the left of my screen. It is a small thing but very noticeable once you start using it. Screen quality and power are great though!

This review is to replace a previous review I made on this product. Initially I gave this seller a 3 star rating, because I misunderstood the ad for the product. We have since discussed and I’m satisfied with our resolution. This seller is very conscientious and made things right. 👍 Product itself is great!

Just what I was looking for: a light-weight HP laptop that has Microsoft lifetime non-subscription, upgraded features. I've been satisfactorily using Windows 10 on two 17-inch laptops (an HP and a Lenovo) for several years. But when Microsoft announced not supporting WIN 10 and encouraging the installation of WIN 11, I knew I would have to "bite the bullet" and upgrade before I ended up having to buy Windows 11. WIN 11 comes pre-installed. I've become accustomed to using Office suites since the mid-90s (okay, okay I'm now 78). Free pre-installation of the latest of the non-subscription Office suites (2024) was a big plus when considering the purchase of this new laptop. I hope I'm all set for the rest of my life. I was also looking for a laptop that--as I age--I could much more easily carry around the house than I can right now carry my 17-inchers. (It could also be easier to carry when I pack up other personals if ever notified to evacuate due to fire, wind, or earthquake.) Also, realizing that I didn't necessarily need a 17-inch laptop any longer, I chose a less expensive 15-incher. By the way, validating the pre-installed Office 2019 is easy. Just don't hurry, read everything on the screen as you work toward validation, and you'll be done with that step in four minutes! Watch that you do not install Microsoft 365 'cause you'll have to pay for and subscribe to it. If you don't need it, then Office is truly adequate for you. The legal pre-installed version of Office 2019 is genuine Microsoft software that does not come with a product key and, therefore, it does not need to be registered with Microsoft. (If you have an online Microsoft account, it's up to you if you want to register the laptop itself.) One more thing, once you're done with setup process, you'll notice that OneDrive is the default for synchronizing. If you're not familiar with OneDrive, go online to understand what it's for and how it works. Contact the seller via Amazon's communication feature for anything. Just click his name on the right side of the product description page and you'll arrive at the seller's profile with the link for communication in the upper right corner.

I purchased this laptop computer to replace my old 15+ year HP laptop computer that is wearing out. My old computer had Windows 10 which was not going to get supported anymore. This HP laptop computer with the great features it said it came with was just what I was looking for. I really liked getting a Free Microsoft Office 2024 Lifetime License with this computer. The computer works great and is lite weight and easy to work. The only major I have is if there is a Free Microsoft Office 2024 Lifetime License on this laptop computer, I can't find it? I have searched the computer, looked at all programs and only found "Outlook". No others and this ticks me off as it was want I wanted badly so I would not have to pay the major office cost every year. I rated this at only three stars just because of the missing Free Microsoft Office 2024 Lifetime License that is not on this computer and I really needed it.

Really bad investment. The keyboard never updated and now the whole computer does not work…It asks for these drivers from HP that you cannot download or install. And there is no guarantee or support because it was bought here. Do not recommend

I ordered and received this HP laptop in November 2025 because Windows 10/11 was crashed in 2025. The installation was quick, except that it had to be updated a bit. I was sure that this would happen to all new computers within 4-5 months, because for many years I worked with different PCs only as a user. Serious problems began when I could not improve the sound even after 4-5 months, despite all the efforts and experience. I followed all the tips I got online on how to improve the audio on "Free Microsoft Office LTSC Profession Plus 2024 with Lifetime License. Office 2024 is pre-installed and activated, no key is needed and is provided. Please DO NOT install Office 365, which will void the Office 2024 license." There was no improvement as this laptop via OneDrive requires only Office 365. The sound almost completely disappeared on May 17, 2026. After a while, I sent an email to the seller on May 24 asking them to send me a product key, despite the fact that "Office 2024 is already installed and activated, no key needed and provided." So I asked about the product key for Office 2024 to continue to use on this laptop and make updates, because I had previously given a good review of Microsoft Office LTSC Professional Plus 2024, and the seller even raised the price from $639.99 to $869.99. The seller replied to me that this laptop "can be activated in some way that is accessible to us" and suggested that I could "send the laptop back to us and our experts will help successfully activate the free Microsoft Office LTSC Professional Plus 2024 and ship it to you then." I reread this answer several times and could not understand WHAT NONSENSE I WAS READING. I have a lifetime license for this laptop, BUT I am not eligible to receive a PRODUCT KEY to improve its performance. I decided to check ONLINE if this laptop is legal or not. To my question, "Is this legally free Microsoft Office LTSC Professional Plus 2024 with a lifetime license. Including Word, etc., Office 2024 is already installed and activated.” I quickly received a response from AI Overview: "No, this offer is almost certainly not legal or secure. According to Microsoft support, Office Professional Plus editions are volume-licensed products designed exclusively for organizations. They are not sold as genuine "lifetime licenses" to individual consumers." LAUGH OR CRY??? To my answer describing the above, the seller replied to me on May 29, 2026, in an even more subtle way: "If you are concerned about the security of your laptop data and do not want to return the laptop, we would like to offer you a compensation of 30CAD and you can buy the code directly from Microsoft..." LAUGH OR CRY AGAIN??? I had to go through legal advice on many websites, and I simply replied to the seller on June 1st that I am STRONGLY AGAINST this illegal transaction/bribe through Amazon.ca and have every legal right to apply for a guarantee from A-to-Z, despite 6 months from the date of receipt of the information. The seller quickly responded and said that their team "still advises you to send the laptop back to us due to a Microsoft Office LTSC 2024 activation issue." The sound was probably restored today by MICROSOFT because they reviewed my case. BUT Amazon.ca erased my good review for November 2025 and (probably) didn't accept the truthful review written yesterday. Conclusion: This NOT LEGAL 2024 Microsoft Office LTSC with an increased price is still on sale on Amazon.ca, and I could not make further improvements to this laptop.
