Wondering if this will work on very curly hair? My daughter is of mixed race and has very thick curly hair. Most brushes result in a huge afro.

NEVER brush curly hair dry. Always brush curly hair while wet and use some sort of leave-in conditioner or moisturizer that will give it some slip and won’t be as rough when your brush passes through. I’m also mixed race and I only wash my hair once weekly and brush it out twice weekly. I use a spray bottle with water and conditioner mixed inside. fully saturate the hair and then brush starting at the ends and working your way up to the roots. curly hair likes to do it’s own thing so the less you mess with it, the better it behaves.

How does this brush compare to The Wet Brush?

I have to disagree with others who say the Wet Brush is better, at least for my hair. I have very fine, long hair but a lot of it. While the wet brush will get the tangles out, it takes upwards of two hours or more and comes with much hair pulled out. While it does pull less than this brush, I was able to get all my significant tangles out in less than an hour and with minimal hair removed.

it is very economical..

Very good brush. first detangle hair by barely putting the brushing tips into the hair when you can go smoothly over your outer layer of hair then go deeper in stages. Go deeper but only about 1/2 inch . brush lightly u ntil smooth. Then go a little deeper until you get to the scalp. .when that runs through smoothly then use the brush to brush your scalp thus massaging your scape and stimulating blood flow to nouise your hairfollic thus making your hair stronger. I hope you like this brush as much as I do. It feels wonderful when you get to your scalp massage..
