Q: Would this project be good for a 7-year-old girl?

No! My nearly 50 year old husband had to help my 11year old son because nothing was pre-threaded for the screws. No screwdrivers were included and we broke a jeweler's screwdriver trying to get one of the screws in place. This seems fun to play with once assembled, but this is an adult project. The instructions are not clear at all. This was a gift and I do Not recommend for anyone under 18.

Q: Does this have to be a tin can? Most soda cans are aluminum.

Yes, the can MUST be at least 97.6% tin, or it won't work.

Q: does the 4M Tin Can Cable Car automaticly reverse and how fast does it move?

If you assemble it correctly it will automatically reverse once it reaches the end. It doesn't move very fast.
