The version of these that are bigger, are a bit louder. but still these are awesome... I bought like 8 different brands to see witch was the loudest. by far the Storm and the Windstorm were the winners. The fox40 was also really nice. the others that clame to be the loudest are just not being honest. With a regular amount of blowing capacity these are the loudest.The advantage of the Storm Vs this one is that it's not just a bit loudest but easy to hold in your lips in an emergency situation. The advantage of these Windstorm is that it is smaller and almost as loud.The Windstorm, the Storm and the fox40 would keep you the safest... I tested them on the field and all those 3 are amazing... don't trust your life to anything else.With any of those 3 I couldn't see my wifes arm going up and down to tell me that she was still hearing the whistle... She was too far on the distance... almost a mile away... and still was able to hear the whistle.Another positive thing is that they still make noise even if you are not blowing really hard so a kid or a injured adult can blow and be heard. (Some of the other tested only make noise if you blow extremely hard... not good for a emergency).If you check the STORM you may see my other review where I show the picture of all the other whistle that I tested.I think I should make a video... no body paid me to say those 3 are the best/loudest/easy to blow... but it could save somebody's life and that's more important than lie to sell a whistle. :)Be safe and enjoy!

I wanted a whistle that would summon attention when I needed it for me, my wife, and sister, and I also orfered more once I got them for friends.I also wanted them for uninvited telephone sales calls that are driving to drink. These are great. Not flimsy, loud, easy to find due to bright color, loud, comes with a lariat to go around your neck, loud, and really startles anyone nearby. Gives you a chance that you might not have otherwise. Absolutely great and you can ignore other negative reviews.

I bought these for backpacking but realized that I needed them at home too. Tied under the foot of each bed we have a mesh bag filled with emergency supplies: flashlight, shoes, particulate mask, but I never thought to put a whistle in until I retook my CERT class. These things work under water (tied to lifejackets, we tested them) and are crazy loud in air. So, I am back again buying more, plus some long life glowsticks. These are a cheap precaution for any household emergency and could safe someone's life.

These whistles are loud! Great!The metal pieces of the lanyard will also become brittle due to metal/salt water interaction. With that in mind, be sure to rinse the whistle with freshwater as soon as you finish your saltwater activity. What I did instead was attach the whistle to a durable string to further resist corrosion AND rinse with freshwater once home.Surprised it actually works under water! UNDER WATER!

I am an Airport Manager - ordered these whistles for our Ramp Crews who push and tow large aircraft. These whistles are great quality and super loud... even around running jet aircraft. This will serve as an extra safety layer to our operation. Cannot recommend enough - this is a great whistle!
