Wilbur Smith excellent story teller, but this book was different, the story was very twisted between two Courtney family lines. The story was extremely enjoyable, lot of different characters and great ending.

By far, my all-time favorite writer. I talent and imagination. Your legacy lives on and and your stories will be enjoyed for centuries to come.

When I started read Wilber Smith's books I never imagined I would meet some people from South Africa who were personal friends of his. This book was just as great as his first ones and I could not put it down.

It was a great read up until the very end. It seemed like the last 3 chapters were just thrown in and didn’t fallow the story line. In one chapter the villain was killed and in the next chapter he was alive and fighting. It was so confusing that I stopped reading.

I’ve been reading Smith’s books since 1976, and have caught up and read all of them. His descriptions were colorful and bloody; battles were insanely detailed; death was gruesome and Harper didn’t miss a beat in conveying that enormous talent of Wilbur Smith!!!!!

Story was a little confusing at times, but overall came together at the end. I enjoyed it and will continue to read all that Wilbur Smith writes.

A fantastic book of the Courtney’s during the French Revolution. A great storyline pulls multiple events and family together over a thirty year time frame. It’s a great adventure. I suggest you go for the ride.

The Courtneys are back, brilliant book, exciting as ever.

Love the way Wilbur Smith continues his line of books together with other writers like Tom Harper. I have all the Wilbur Smith books and meanwhile I also read read all Tom Harper books. That says it all !

Magnificent story but lots of violence - hard to put down. Would recommend this to all Wilbur smith fans. Most enjoyable

Good story

I haven't read a Wilbur Smith novel for several years, only because there are so many good authors writing great books. Nemesis has gripped me from the 1st chaptor & I am thougherly enjoying the story. In fact when I downloaded the book I also downloaded a further Wilbur Smith book which I havent started on yet. Smith has been one of my fave writers since I was a young man. Im now 72 and still an avid reader, I read every night. You cant go wrong if you want a good read by perusing a Wilbur Smith book of any title.
