A hitch that does it all...
This hitch hold two bikes, thats all I needed. One would have been enough. Easy to convert to a 2 inch receiver, but my hitch is 1 1/4. The mechanism tichtens up securely and locks in place for anti theft. Nice! All the necessary pins are easily removable. One pulls out to drop your bike to the ground to unload it. Also nice! The top folds down for storage. I bought a wall mountable receiver to mount it to my wall for storage, and you can also service it while it is in there. It hangs the bike far away enough from the wall to service your drivetrain or wheels. I imagine that you could also disassemble your fork if you wanted to. The flatter your top tube is, the easier that will be. I use a bungee cord to keep my bike from flapping in the hitch. I think the instructions recommend that. This is a well built piece and it look like it will last for years. I do recommendthis product and would purchase it again.

Better than expected!
First time I'm written a product review, but this one is worth the time. Took a chance and ordered this without knowing exactly what to expect. Placed the order Saturday, got it on Monday PM (way to go Prime!), and installed it after I got home from work. Opening the box, it was very well packed - no damage, no missing parts. Nice easy, clear instructions; best assembled with a set of socket wrenches. The quality of the materials and the welds, finish etc. are first rate! Most impressive feature is the pure genius of built-in locking mechanism; works like an expanding anchor bolt inside the hitch receiver. Simply engage the knob (there's a key for this) and turn it until it's tight. Leaves no slop between the rack tube and the receiver tube. Solid! No need for a separate padlock/pin to secure it to the vehicle. Brilliant! My installation is on a Honda Ridgeline, and as you can see from the photos it tilts out far enough to give full access to the rear box. Highly recommend this product.

Sturdy, easy to assemble and use
This rack assembled in about 10 minutes and I added thin rubber and stainless washers under the lock nuts cause I'm weird like that. Very simple assembly and the rack has beefy solid construction. The rack slipped into my Honda Ridgeline's 2" hitch and after a few turns of the tightening knob, the rack was rock solid, no wobble at all at the hitch, just a bit of wobble at the tilting joint which I expected. I was anticipating getting a hitch clamp but it certainly wasn't needed. Drove about 30 miles after picking up my new bike, and the rack was perfect. I could not see it move at all. I did bungee the wheels to each other to keep the front wheel from swaying and put a piece of pool noodle around the frame of the bike so it wouldn't make contact with the rack and possibly scratch the bike frame (I'll add some adhesive foam padding to the rack frame to sort this.) The straps stayed tight for the trip and I'll eventually swap them out for replacement cradles with the rubber ladder straps just so loading and unloading is quicker and easier. Had no problem with removing the rack from the hitch as some others have. I Just turned the knob counter clockwise and the rack pulled right out. This is a cost effective and worry free way to transport your bikes safely. A great purchase!

Up date on Stuck in hitch-Superior Customer Service
Hold off on buying this until they figure out the lock. Once you install it works great and is solid. BUT now I can not get the rack out of the receiver. One of the keys snapped off second use, and the button to push in for release was difficult but I got it. Now on trying to remove the rack the second time the release button will not push in and the rack is very solidly stuck in the hitch. Not sure what to do next. Contacted Allen Sports and sure hope they are helpful because I need to use my hatchback and get this off my car so I can return it. First thing in the morning after I wrote this first 2 star review, I receive an email from Allen Sports. First thing was offering to make the situation right asap. The night prior i had some family help looking at it trying to figure out what it was we needed to do. Final solution was some WD40 around the release button on the hitch and them some wiggling. I think there was just not the right slip after unlocking it to get it out of the hitch, and perhaps that button I think was maybe too big for my hitch. They offered to cover the cost of the 2 stronger keys I had made and will look into the keys and what may have been the issue with my rack. I am going to try it a few more time to see it the issue comes up again. They do a lot of product testing and were genuinely interesting in my problem since it never happened in their product testing. They offered to replace with another rack if this continues, this was Allen Sports, not Amazon. The rack is very well made, I looked at a lot before buying this one and the quality and function is great and would now definitively recommend you can by their product with confidence.

Lots of pluses: Light, sturdy, easy install, locks into hitch, folds down for tail gate access I've seen other racks that are sloppy in the hitch. This one tightens great. Only negative is that the bike closest to the rack's vertical support can hit against it. I solved this by wrapping a rag around the contact part which is the bike crank arm and then bungie the bike solid to the rack so there is no impacting.

After using it 4-5 times i am very happy with it. Interested to see how it will last over time.
