Pocket Anatomy : Figure Drawing Handbook serves as the complete artist's guide, offering instructions on depicting the intricate structures and forms of the human body. Whether you're an art student, a seasoned professional, or an enthusiastic amateur, this portable book provides inspiration and guidance for honing core skills and mastering drawing techniques. Recognizing the complexity of human anatomy, even for experienced artists, this book adopts a visionary approach. It simplifies the intricacies of anatomy by breaking them down into fundamental shapes such as boxes, spheres, and cylinders. This simplification makes the study of the human body more accessible and comprehensible. While it may not delve into every muscle and bone detail, the book lays a solid foundation for understanding the human form. This Book Features: A reference guide: Pocket Anatomy includes every angle of the body – from head to toe – in motion and pose. Clear illustrations: allow you to examine key body parts up close, including hands, fingers, arms, shoulders, heads, etc. By capturing intricate details often overlooked, you can enhance your artwork significantly. For all levels: Whether you're a beginner or professional, this book offers something for everyone! Review: Good anatomy book (but I wouldn’t recommend for beginners) - Recently, I’d been having troubles with drawing, (I mostly draw people) and decided to buy this book to help out. This book is, quite literally, on the anatomical side. You get detailed descriptions and diagrams of all of the different BONES and MUSCLES of the body, which made me realize that this book was a bit too advanced for what I was looking for. (I realized my problem was with proportions, not learning how to draw the shapes of the body themselves.) The book briefly touches on proportions and doesn’t really expand on it enough for my taste, but this is an ANATOMY book not really a “proportions” book, so I won’t dock any stars just because this isn’t what I exactly needed. Overall, this is very well made and probably helpful for more advanced artists. Even though this book isn’t what I was looking for, there are loads of beautiful drawings of the human body filling every page that I like to look at for inspiration, and who knows, maybe this book will help me more in the future. Review: Short, sweet, and helpful - Great small reference for simplifying figure drawing anatomy. You won't learn detailed sepcifics, but you'll learn enough of the basics to jump off from. I've been figure drawing for decades but paused for a while for a necessary focus shift and this is a helpful a quick reminder of key anatomical features. I'd recommend this to beginners and experienced artists who just need some quick reference and reminders.

Good for a quick reference
The book is very good for simpifying the basic muscle structures for artistic anatomy. It doesn' t go into a lot of depth, but it's good in the sense that you can get a quick overview for a sketch or project you're working on. It does help if you're somewhat familiar with human anatomy already - you'll catch on right away to the diagrams. All in all, this is a helpful book for a good breakdown of the muscle shapes and placement on the body. What 'Cliff notes' are to reading a whole book, this is similar rather than going through a detailed artistic anatomy book.

First part alone helped me so much
I’m still going through it but the beginning alone has helped me make poses myself. Once you get the hang of shapes and practice with the ones they show you’ll be able to ease yourself into making your own poses. Whatever I make is still stiff but I’m already making more progress than I did without this help

Pocket travel size. Great price for what you get
I'm somebody who has loved art since I was a little kid but after college I kind of fell out of art for a while. Work in life in general. Just tired me out. But honestly having this little pocket size portable anatomy sketchbook brought art back to me. I often use it during my hour lunch break at work. The anatomy is simple yet helps even with experience artist. It's a great price for what you get. I recommended highly

My son loves this!
Good detail, easy to follow, clean instructions and tips, high quality paper, perfect size, multiple options and techniques, and my son is 11 and aspiring in the arts and he uses this very often over and over! Nice to see him looking at a book instead of always pausing and unpausing on YouTube

Tascabile!
Piccolino ma molto utile, avrei preferito però un approfondimento sulla figura di 3/4 e di profilo

Great book~
This book isn’t really for complete beginners. You’ll need some prior knowledge of 3D space and how to draw a complete human figure. It’s more about enhancing your work and giving it that extra polish, kind of like decorating a boring room to make it more vibrant and personal. To me, this book feels like a secret sibling to Morpho: Simplified Forms. It’s almost as if the author broke down the Morpho book, turned it into personal notes, and then arranged them into this guide. I can’t say for sure if that’s true, but that’s definitely the vibe I get!
