I’m in my early 70s, and over the years, I’ve tried countless skincare products claiming to reduce wrinkles and firm the skin. Most of them didn’t live up to the hype—but I have to say, Matrixyl truly surprised me.

My first impression of this was that it was a cheap gimmick and the consumer had no way of knowing it's potency or concentration. Part of this negativity came from (1) the plastic bottle and lack of care put into packaging and labeling and (2) the numerous filler ingredients I usually avoid like butylene glycol and other petroleum based humectants that are extremely cheap to produce and add bulk to cosmetics while cutting costs and lowering potency. However, when put straight on skin, this does feel potent or that it is affecting and stimulating skin in some way, not negatively, just actively. I had no redness or irritation but I could feel an increase in warmth and circulation which could be good or bad really. Without a lab, it's hard to determine how much the label is telling the truth, though, sadly. The texture is viscous from the carbomer and other thickeners. This isn't super watery so you won't needlessly waste it when transferring some to other serums as per the directions. This has no odor other than the very subtle scent of the stabilizers and preservatives included, but no synthetic fragrance is added, which is nice for those with chemical sensitivity. I do like how this feels on my skin and I feel like it enhances my complexion slightly so I'm guessing it's at least somewhat good.

This product is a great value . It absorbs quickly and works well with other products. It makes my skin glow and helps soften my wrinkles . The only downside is that sometimes the product was difficult to get in the dropper !

Did not like how it blended with my Clinique Moisture Surge. It made it feel sticky and when I’d rub my face, it would create some peeling of product. It blend fine with my liquid toner. Felt nice on the skin. Did not cause irritation. It has no scent. The packaging and label is not high quality considering the price. I have been using it for almost a month and have not noticed any drastic changes.

I was skeptical but this concentrate does work. I’ve seen a visible difference in my forehead lines in 12 weeks. A great alternative to anyone who doesn’t want injectables.
