Not safe for lifting anything seriously heavy
Arrived in unusable condition, like it was damaged and returned, then sent to me. The unpainted metal part appears bent out of place and will not allow the mechanism to operate. On close inspection there's some very flimsy parts. The cast steel superstructure looks solid enough, but as it is lifting, the load is alternated between two pins that ratchet up the holes in the main shaft. Those pins have smaller pins though them and with each operation of the lever to lift up another notch those thin steel pins briefly bear the entire load. I;m sure this is how all versions of this work, but I would bet the farm those pins are not strong enough to hold 3 tons, even for a brief second. I got this to lift a fence post and have already ordered another because I need it done this weekend, but I would not rely on this to lift anything heavier or dangerous and certainly nothing that could fall on you. Lift a vehicle? Only if you want to spend the next few weeks in ICU.

Inadequate release mechanism
Katsu farm jack 48 inch. This has no controlled release or step down mechanism. I do not feel safe using the device so I have returned it for a refund. Also the wheel hooks meant to be included with this were not as advertised and cannot be used for the intended purpose of lifting a vehicle by the wheel.

Weak and cheap mechanism. Useless for me but might be ok in lightweight situations. The instructions were laughable.
