Savior quality. Very comfortable, tight headband. good electronics. love the patches
I saw that Savior Equipment has branched out their product line into electronic hearing and really wanted to try them. I paid for these out of my pocket. This is NOT paid review. They were at a low price, probably temporary introductory price, not sure. For the price I got them, I feel like I ripped off Savior. These are very good ear pro. First, let me say I have a couple of Savior bags. Very high quality bags that really prove the "you get what you pay for" cliche. Savior is NOT the cheapest BAG, but the quality far exceeds the price differential. I say this to show my expectation of anything with the Savior Equipment label on it. Electronic Hearing Protection review: Summary for the TLDR'ers: Out of the box, these felt great. Very solid. Heavier than other brands. The headband was very tight as compared to others. Gel pads are very comfortable if slightly warmer. Flag and label patches are nice. Noise cancellation is excellent. There is a loud beep when turning on and another when turning off. I like that audible notification. I highly recommend these Savior Equipment Apollo hearing protection. Ear pads: The gel ear pads are the first gel I've tried so I can't compare them to other GEL pads. Compared to regular foam pads, they are much more comfortable. Sitting ON your ear, they feel very good. The seam in the middle radius of the pad seems like it may accumulate sweat and goo. That may make them a little harder to clean. They seem to get a little sweatier than regular pads, probably because the gel conforms to your ear shape better than foam which is a good thing. And, the comfort of gel is worth it to me. Basically, they really feel good. Electronics: The actual noise suppression is the killer app for ear pro. These worked very well. They are clearly better electronics than many I have used. I have Howard Leight's and a Leight knockoff called "Zohan". They both work and feel good, but they "cut out" completely (silence) for a very short time when the decibel limit is reached. Other, cheaper brands I own cut out far TOO LONG after a threshold limit. The Savior just cuts the LOUD noise and keeps the background noise. Maybe it's just a faster reaction time opening and closing the noise gate, but regardless...it's better. Sound is very clear. As another reviewer noted, I could hear the "whooshing" of the ventilation. It was very obvious. Not a bad thing at all, but I've never noticed it as much with other brands of electronic ear pro. Maybe they are just more sensitive overall? Not sure, but not an issue for me. These sound very good and do the job they're paid to do. Asthetics: These look good. I prefer OD myself, but black was on sale for a stupid cheap (intoductory?) price, so black it is! The patches are very nice add ons. I've previously considered buying other brands because they have patches. These have a flag on one side and a "name label" on the other. This is good since I got 2 identical sets, one for me and one for the wife. Now we can clearly label them...included in the price. I saw another reviewed say the wires look like "cat ears". Factcheck = true. Her solution was to tuck them under the velcro morale patches which worked for her, and that worked for me. So, that's a non-issue IMO. Negatives? I see only a few, minor things that could be considered "negatives" by some: 1) The headband may be tighter than some would like, but I like a snug fit. 2) The wires look like "cat ears" Tuck them under the patches. Done. 3) The volume adjust knob is a little, tight/"plasticy". I am used to the Howard Leight and Zohan knobs which feel very good and smooth. This is a very minor complaint, but the one thing I really prefer about the other brands. 4) The battery compartment door was the hardest to get off of any of the 3 brands I mentioned. It was doable and may get easier after several times. But it was noticeably more difficult. I can see some people really having a heard time opening them. Older and younger people may need assistance.

Electronic sound limiting way too slow
Comfortable to wear. Hearing protection is reasonably effective BUT the noise cancelling function cuts out sound for far too long and makes it impossible to have any kind of conversation.

Another Savior Win
I met a bunch of Savior guys at PSA’s The Gathering in 2022, their booth was next to the company’s I was working for at the time. I got a range bag from them and its high quality material and stitching impressed me. When I saw this headset from the same Savior Equipment, I knew I had to try it. Besides, for $38ish it’s not too big of a risk. I was super impressed with the headset. The gel cups are extremely comfortable and cool (perfect for hot southern range days and keeping the sweat out). The color options are nice, and the noise reduction is perfect. Sometimes comparable headsets work great outdoors but struggle at indoor ranges and these did great. I was still able to hear and talk to everyone and protect my hearing from that one guy with the 6inch barrel and muzzle brake that mag dumps his 556 pistol. Great job Savior Equipment at making AFFORDABLE quality products that actually work well and look nice too (ABC’s = always be cool). Would and probably will buy again.

Solid Set of Earpro
Solid set of earpro. They are more comfortable than my 3m of similar features. The gel pads are much more comfortable than most. The sounds is pretty good and the battery life seems better than my 3m as well. These have been a solid purchase, I’m very happy with them.

Great hearing protections for the ranges or even working around loud noises.
Great hearing protection. For what you pay and with the gel ear pads included, it's a much better buy than walkers. I had the walker but returned them for these. Same price but I would've paid more due to having to order gel packs for the walkers. Went to the range this past weekend and they were comfortable to wear. As with any indoor range, I always double up with plugs and was still able to hear others talk. Will def buy again.
