Works great
Worked well, easy to clean, it doesnt matter what direction your cutting at. Its lighter, and doesnt keep spinning if you let go of the trigger.. imo, way safer for high cuts.

Good saw, bad chain and bar.
After having this saw for 1 year and doing mild yard maintenance with it, I fell comfortable writing a review. The saw preformed as one should and seems to be built well enough to handle most small tree trimming tasks. Ive had 3 electric chainsaws and this one has been my favorite. I like it better than the Milwaukee that I had. The battery is a bit heavy and is slow to charge but lasts long enough for most of the yard work I do. The only complaint that I have is the bar and chain that are supplied with it are not made well enough to stand up to cutting. Go ahead and purchase an Oregon 16โ bar and chain combo. The Cat chain is made of metal thats too soft and the roller portion will burr easily leading to multiple kick backs and eventually jamming till it kicks the chain. Switching to the Oregon bar solves this immediately. So far it has out preformed my M18 saw and makes me want to throw rocks at the kobalt.

Excellent chainsaw
I've cut down a 16 in diameter pine and some other trees of 4 to 12 in diameter, totally no problem. Cuts like a knife through butter. Only complaint is that the battery lasts for a good hour of work, and recharges in 90-120 minutes. As a homeowner, that's no problem, I can wait and finish the job later, but if you're a heavy user you'd want a few batteries pre-charged to get through a work day. Actually the oil tank which has integrated threads for the cap, the threads just stripped off without me putting a lot of force into it. CAT replaced it for free under warranty. If I bought it again, I would buy it from somewhere other than Amazon because I was apparently shipped an out-of-date model that's probably been sitting in a warehouse for 3 years. My replacement model is up to date.

Cat Chainsaw / Battery failure
On the first try I was highly impressed about the power of the chainsaw. Up to here I used only Stihl chainsaws and I explained to friends and family how good the Cat chainsaw was. I even bought a blower from Cat which accepts the same battery. Since I did not used it often, now after charging the battery more or less 10 times the battery working time is now 2 minutes, yes its not a typing mistake, with each charge the operation time went down. Now I am at 2 minutes. After contacting Cat support I now decided not to purchase any Cat power tools anymore. I am simply disappointed since I thought I choose a high quality product with of course a high price tag as well.

It's a CATERPILLAR WHAT ELSE!
Great lightweight saw. Of course I am partial I worked at CAT years ago. I know the quality that goes into everything they make! It is as exactly advertised.Again this is a small chain saw. Keep that it mind. I basically am using it as an upgrade from my Stihl edger My edger is great but will it not cut through 2"&3"+ woody branches. The saw cuts through easily. Not sure what you are looking for but go to YouTube there are some great videos from guys using it. Again lightweight, easy maintenance, battery operated (charger/battery/blade sleeve) all included. Only one thing I didn't think the battery charge lasted that long. Course when I am out working I lost track of time. I guess you can compensate and get another battery but I am not using it that much.
