I Don't Know What You Mean By Silver Solder? The Metal Prep Is Used To Etch The Metal Inside The Tank So The POR-15 Adheres Better. You Really Don't Want The Degreaser Or Metal Prep Comming In Contact With Paint. Several Coats Of A Good Quality Wax on Painted Areas Then I Green Frog Tape All Painted Area's . Then Go Slow And Be Very Careful . I Have Done Over 15 Motorcycle Tanks With 100% Success . The Key Is To Follow The Directions Provided. The Tank Must Be Bone Dry Before Pouring In POR-15. This Is The Step Most People Rush And You Will Have Problems. Hopes This Helped You!

Will this remove the old kreem or recoat it

You should try to remove as much of the old coating as possible, You want this to adhere to metal. If the rust is too flaky you may not have success with any coating.

If my tanf has been cleaned to bare metal. i used white vinegar. do i need your tank prep? or can i just use the por-15 f

It is highly recommended to use the prep. It will get out any remaining residues and missed spots. It will also help the por-15 adhere and cure to the metal better. Never skip a step..
