Whenever I get gunky with mucus in the back of my throat I grab my Mullen tea and feel the relief almost immediately. So yes it is effective. I usually add a bit of honey as I like the taste. For this reason I feel the tea is worth the money.

We tried this tea after considering a friend claiming it reduced their amount of coughing and phlegm. We further read a few medical (respiratory) peer-review articles before purchase suggesting this tea might help. Of course we were still SKEPTICAL given many products end up being "SNAKE OIL" but over after drinking a cup daily for two weeks we NOTICED less cough and phlegm with ourselves and we have not changed our environment so there should no confounding variables. Given this we think the advertising for lung support holds some merit. The teas has a mild flavor, sort of like dandelion (buttercups) but we DON'T MIND IT. We thought about the capsule version but decided on the tea due to cost and because everyone needs water to prevent dehydration and the problems associated with that so the tea takes care of two problems for the price one. WE WILL CONTINUE WITH THIS TEA to see if our lungs improve over the next few months. The reason for four-stars is because we're NOT COMPLETELY SURE of the long-term outcome and CAN'T RATE as five-star because there's no guaranty. But we LIKE THERE'S NO INSOMNIA INDUCING CAFFEINE according to the package. Not sure of tannin (polyphenol) level that can influence iron and other nutritional absorption but it's the tannin that are the anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant and gives tea the "bitter" taste and this tea doesn't shock the taste buds.
