I’ve been using this window AC for a little while and so far I’m happy with it. It cools the room pretty quickly and the noise level is reasonable. I also like having the remote and the smart controls, which make it convenient to adjust the temperature. The installation was pretty straightforward. The heat and dehumidifier functions are a nice bonus too. Overall, it’s a good AC for the price and works well for my needs.

After some research, I landed on tha media unit. I have a fish room that doesn't have a vent for heating or cooling. I didn't want to rely on tank heaters to keep the water at the correct temp for two reasons. Reliability and energy consumption. So I choose this window unit as it's fit perfect in my window, I didn't want to make holes and deal with sealing refrigerant lines. I wanted something that had a good Appearance and was easy to install. So far, this window unit has been working great! Apart from having to maintenance the unit it's been hands free for about 6 months now. It keeps my fish room at a constant 74° while simultaneously keeping the humidity at a minimum. Let's not forget about the energy usage. At it's max cooling setting it pulls no more then 400 watts. On it's heating mode I've yet to see it go over 400 watts as well. So it is impressively efficient due to that heat pump technology. It is absolutely quiet! I barely notice it running even on its highest fan speed and on turbo mode. I hope it will last! This has been a worthy investment. Considering how there is a very slim amount of units like this I was afraid it was for a reason. For the price, I dont know if you can find something better. I will say, the heating side of the window unit won't work below 41°. This is not a problem as the unit should not be your main source of heating anyway, it is not designed for that. Lastly, I'd advise anyone buying this unit to keep the air filter screen clean, it is washable. Another tip would be to clean off the outside condenser every other month to keep it working flawlessly. Make sure to power off the unit before you do. Sure doesn't seem like new! Not sure what or why.. got a discount so I kept it.. Here's my review. Its programming is wonky.. not like a real AC unit! Something is wrong with the way they made it or programming as the unit on normal operation doesn't lower the humidity enough without the temp being super low.. so it doesn't cycle.. turning off Eco mod seems to mildly improve that. Drying mode is best for removing humidity but it doesn't respond much to set temp either. That is why I give this 1 star.. too many issues but I will keep because I got it cheap and took to long to figure that out.. plus I plan to use in experimental geothermal setup where I think I can fix some of this issue through modifications... and worse case over-ride the logic board with a cool bot.

I have two of the 8K units and one 12K unit and I will tell you living in an area it can be 90 during the day and high 50s at night in summer this is a great unit to own, I also use these deep into November sometimes even December and from sometimes early march to early may to heat my rental mobile home. THE BIG QUESTION Do they work below 41F ? YES They do work just fine below 41F but they need to be running before it goes below 41F, they seem to work efficiently down to about 35 and I have tested and had them work to 28 F still creating ample heat, just with more defrost cycles and MUCH lower efficiency . I live in an area where it does get to -10 sometimes in winter, so I do not depend on it solely for heat, but for the price, ease of installation, and general efficiency I would say 5 stars! I waited a year and a half after purchasing these to write this review , so I can also say dependability is a feature as well, still work, look, and sound like new! Just make sure you clean once or twice a year and clean indoor filter bi weekly or more for optimum efficiency and performance ! Is a mini split the way to go? YES Is this the closest thing to a mini split you can get without spending thousands on their saddle mount window mini split , or thousands on the installation and drilling holes in your wall ? I bought this in late July 2024 and installed it around the hottest time of the year, august. Now it's November, colder. I wanted to experience using it in both hot and cold weather before writing my review. It worked great as an AC and heater. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet and efficient it is. It is noisier when using for heat as the heatpump seem to rattle when starting up. Once it is running for a few minutes, then it quiets down. The temperature sensor does not work. It seem to use the outside temperature and not the inside. In summer, it's 95+F outside, I have to set it to 75F to keep it from getting too cold in my office. In the winter, I have to set it to 72F as the outside temperature drops into the 50s to keep it from making my office too hot. I have a temperature sensor in my office that measure 78F degree, but this unit kept outputting heat. I had it set to auto and 74F, and one cold winter morning, I came into my office to a very hot 80F! Reducing it to 72F stops the heat. So it looks like this unit is using outdoor temperature to decide when to run. 2024/12/16 update - in heat mode, there is a deep bass hum from the unit. It works well though on cold days. It struggles when outside drops below 41F, but above that, it works well. Once Midea fixes the temperature sensor, I'll raise the rating, otherwise I am happy with it.

I purchased this 8000 BTU inverter A/C for use in a back bedroom that currently doesn't get a lot of heat from the main heat source. As a cooling unit, it's superb and maintains a pretty consistent temperature, although that temperature has little to do with the temperature it is set at. The same is true with the heating feature; the first time I tried it the room had stabilized at around 72 degrees while set at 64, and when I switched to heating mode it immediately started producing heat. This seems to be a constant; no matter what the setting is, when the heat is started it goes through a lengthy cycle before deciding whether or not to honor the setting. The heating function is apparently a true heat pump, meaning that it extracts heat from outside rather than generating it with a resistive heating element. This is good, because it provides about 3-4 times as much heat for a given wattage than a resistive heater would. Typically it draws 250-400 Watts while providing what feels like more than a 1500W electric heater, and I power it from a solar powered inverter. When providing heat, it seems like the actual room temperature depends more on the outside temperature than the thermostat setting, with 62 setting ranging from 64 to about 72, and 66 from about 65 to 75. Oh, and the heat cycle is quite LOUD. But the cost and efficiency of the unit make it worthwhile in my opinion, despite the temperature setting issues.

I’m very happy with this Midea air conditioner. It cools the room quickly and runs quietly. The controls are simple to use, and I really like the clean, modern design. It fits nicely in my window and has been working great so far. Definitely a good purchase, especially for hot summer days!

I bought this since I really liked the functionality of a previous Midea unit I bought for my shop, but didn't care for the u-shape style. This one is 8000 BTU, and also has the heating function. It is basically a heat pump in a regular square window unit form factor. I bought it to help cool the bedroom, and heat function was just a nice "bonus" that I didn't plan on using. I installed it early April, and the temps dropped the next day. I will say that the heat function works very well, and while the literature says 41 degrees F (5 degrees C) is the minimum outdoor operating temperature, it seemed to work down into the upper 30s (around 2 to 3 degrees C) on a couple nights. In the app, this model actually shows up as a "split unit" so you know it's a real heat pump. Pros Cold when you want it Warm when you want it (within reason) Much quieter than the generic "on/off" style window unit it replaced (this one is inverter driven) Scheduling and long distance operation via Wi-Fi and the app is pretty easy Included remote works well They include locking screws and insulating tape for installation. The top groove and side blocking pieces are included, but you have to attach them Cons If you have sensitive hearing, you'll hear the high pitched whine from the inverter system My LED lights on the same circuit as the AC flicker in a slightly annoying way In auto heat/cool mode, the "dead zone" AKA "hysteresis" is a bit too small. The system will switch between heat and cool a lot if the temperature is close to target Unit was a bit wider than the old AC, and I had to get creative with the side blocking pieces and insulating tape At certain frequencies, you may get some vibration in the wall/window from the AC. I get it a bit, but it's usually while it's speeding up so it only lasts a few seconds. The manual states this happens due to "weak walls." I live in a double wide, so maybe? I'm really being a bit picky, because overall I'm totally satisfied with this unit! I like that it only runs as hard as it needs to, and the 8000 BTU size is great for a medium bedroom and bathroom combo. I strongly recommend it so far. Overall power draw is typically between 200 and 400 watts while running, it does seem to use a bit more power in heat mode and gets close to 500 watts at times (according to a KILL A WATT meter) Stand by is under 2 watts
