The base salt used for this salt is a Pacific Ocean Sea Salt and the red clay that is used in this salt to give it its red color is from Hawaii. The salt however is not harvested from Hawaii, which is why it is named a Hawaiian-style Sea Salt. The mixing of the salt and the clay is done at our facility in Woodinville WA, where it is also processed and packaged.
