In order to enable or disable the backlight, please follow these steps: 1. When your meter is deactivated, press and hold any button for two seconds to enter the menu mode. 2. Press the right or left arrow buttons until the SET symbol is displayed. 3. Press the center button twice and the backlight mode setting appears. 4. Select the preferred backlight setting (enabled or disabled) with the right or left arrow. 5. Press and hold the center button to confirm.

I have the Kroger edition of this meter by the same company. Does this meter also check ketones?

Is this accurate and does it go beyond normal BG readings?

It has been accurate for me. Not sure what you mean by beyond normal BG readings. Do you mean does it record high blood glucose readings? Yes it does.
