Does the water stay cold all summer?

As long as you manage the water in the pool well, and not introduce cold fresh water, the water will slowly come up to ambient temperature. However, I wasn't that patient, so I bought two 1.5-meter black rubber mats from the hardware store, and put them at the bottom of the pool. I'll spare you the Joule's/BTU math, but that works out to an increase of about 1.5 degrees Fahrenheit per hour in the direct/indirect sunlight. Combining both filtered treed water with the black mats, I regularly hit 85 degrees (F) by around 2pm every sunny day. Important to know: this is in the city of Chicago, not someplace hot like Arizona.
