Due to walking late hours with dog through dark streets I became increasingly weary of feeling vulnerable..the anxiety took the pleasure of the experience away so I decided to research a personal alarm.I was not convinced this one would be effective as seemed small and was unsure about the mechanism (pull cord). On arrival we tested it and found it easy to operate, small enough to fit in hand or pocket and be accessed easily and the actual alarm is so loud we felt nauseous enduring it and soon switched it off. It is such a horrific sound I can imagine it would be extremely alarming to experience for anyone.I don't know if I feel safer with it but at any rate..if some mad axeman jumps out of the bushes it will be fun to blast his eardrums with this and may bring help. Cheap but not cheerful and came in a pack of two. I purchased a high powered hand torch at the same time that has a strobe effect that has the same disorientating nauseating effect and probably works well together with the alarm.

2 packs ordered (4). Only 3 working. Could be louder but easy to use. Needs to carried so pull doesn't slip out. Easily dislodged but guess that is the purpose.

Nice and compact, with a really ear piercing alarm which is easy to activate and easy to stop. A lot sturdier than I expected. Would definitely recommend. This was bought as a present for my niece and my sons girlfriend, for Christmas. Not very festive but extremely handy for two Uni students who travel alone a lot. The torch is also nice and bright.

I work till after midnight on some occasions then have to walk empty streets to a multi story car park, this is underground and always pretty much empty, this alarm is super loud and fits nicley in my hand with the cord on my finger ready to release. Makes me feel more relaxed on my lone walk!

Easy to operate, perhaps not as loud as I thought it would be but will do the job.
