Britax Poplar S Convertible Car Seat, 2-in-1 Car Seat with Slim 17-Inch Design, ClickTight Technology, Onyx

I don’t normally write reviews but omg I had to do it for this. When I started researching car seats i originally went with the Graco 4ever dlx and my baby absolutely hated it! She normally is fine in her infant car seat but with that one in particular she screamed every time. So I did tons of research and finally landed on the Beitax Poplar S and it is AMAZING. Firstly, it is insanely easy to install. Second, it is great quality and extremely cushioned for comfort. My baby is so calm in it (more so than she is in her infant seat)and falls asleep almost instantly. I really appreciate having the anti rebound bar as well. You can rear face for up to 50lbs which is about 10lbs more than most other car seats. Also, it fits perfectly into my Jeep renegade. The only thing that is possibly a downside is that it is heavy from the steel frame but even if you were to switch it between cars, it’s so easy to install that it pretty much makes up for the con of the weight. I’ll forever buy this brand of car seats for all my future kids. Hope this helps!

I did a ton of research on every car seat out there, and this one was the winner for me. My 1 year old is very happy with it too! It is nontoxic, extremely safe (the roll bar isn't on many car seats yet), doesn't break the bank (like Nuna or Clek) and EXTREMELY easy to install. My baby seems comfortable in it, and so far it's been pretty easy to clean (though I haven't had to fully wash yet.) It's even not bad to fly on planes with as it's not crazy heavy, and Britax makes a rolling cart for it to wheel through airport. If you're on the fence, just get this one!

I love this seat. It is easy-ish to install and the safety factor is there which was my priority. It does not move very sturdy. My only complaint is that it is a bit heavy but we won’t be using it for travel so I don’t mind.

We purchased this Britax Poplar S for my 14 month old son when he was getting too tall for his infant seat. We were looking for a seat that was not only compact in width, but would conserve space for a front passenger with longer legs. I was able to install this seat at the most upright angle in my Honda Odyssey, and my young toddler was still very comfortable and did not have any issues with his head falling forward when asleep. There’s plenty of room for a front passenger, and my preschooler can easily get by the seat to reach her own when loading from the passenger side of the vehicle. My son seems very comfortable in the seat; the padding is much more plush than our other seats (Graco 4ever DLX and Chicco Keyfit 35). It installed very easily and quickly with the ClickTight feature. I also really appreciate the 50 pound rear facing capabilities and the anti-rebound bar for added safety. My only complaint about this seat is the harness padding. How on earth could you make a car seat with the SafeWash feature - so the company is clearly aware for the need to easily clean kid grossness - yet make it with harness padding that cannot be removed? This was almost a deal breaker for us, and would have been if we purchased the seat for an infant who would spit up all over the harness pads. I admit to having some level of anxiety about an eventual carsickness incident and trying to spot clean the padding. The undersides of the padding are also very grippy, and our family has mixed feelings about this. On one hand, the straps never move during the drive and the padding never slips away from cushioning the shoulders and neck. On the other hand, the friction between the padding and clothing makes it harder to put the straps on and adjust them properly. My husband would honestly give this seat a much lower rating because of this and proclaims that he hates this seat, but I strap my child in exponentially more often and found it less frustrating after practice. Still, I think an improved harness padding design would really make this seat outshine any other other convertible car seat.

If you are looking for a car seat that’s easy and quick to install, this is it! It has a lot of padding which makes it comfortable for my baby. The only thing that bothers me is that the release button for the straps is under the padding, which makes it not as quick to get them out. Overall great price for the quality!

This seat performs better than more expensive competitors (looking at you, Clek foonf) in terms of comfort for the baby and ease of install. Even my husband could figure it out! Also, I didn’t have to spend a bunch of extra money to make it work for an infant as the seat comes with all the pads you would need. I am able to fit three across in the back of our Subaru outback without issue. I waited specifically for the Poplar S to be released because I knew I wanted the anti-rebound bar. Out of my Graco slim fit, Clek, and this seat, we have a clear winner.

We have been using this seat for a few months now and absolutely love it. The click tight installation gets the seat so much tighter than any latch install we have used. The material is soft and comfortable and my daughter's head does not slump over when sleeping like it did in the Graco seat we tried. Would highly recommend this seat to anyone looking for what's next after an infant car seat.

I have been a die hard Graco customer from day one. I’ve never given any other brand of car seat any thought! That was until Britax released their Poplar car seat that is 17” wide, only .3in more wide than the Graco SlimFit3 LX/True3Fit LX. And if you have a car that isn’t car seat friendly, at all, like me (2016 Dodge Journey)… then you know you need the SLIMMEST seats possible for three across. While Graco beats Britax being slimmer with better cupholder placement… I am able to fit three across with the Britax in the mix as well, the fabric and padding it MUCH more plush/comfortable, the quality is insanely better for nearly the same price, the install is 10/10… chefs kiss… EASIEST install I have EVER done! If you’re on the fence, do it! You won’t regret it!
